New For Me 2000 996 C4

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks.....,

What a tremendous day today....,

I have just bought my new to me 911 2000 C4 blue in color and black int.

Absolutely full equipped with dash and leather seats, big wheels....

I just place a deposit today so we will do the transfer next week.

I felt in love with the engine and the clutch....what a perfect match...

2 weeks ago i sold my 1999 Boxster and the reason why i sold her was for the lack of performance..what a huge difference...

Hope i made a good pick no engine RMS OR IMS leak, new clutch tires and all...

Let you know more once i pick her up

Buy Buy folks

Robert

Congratulations on your new baby.

Ive been considering a 2003 boxster and a 1999 Carrera, and will probably making a decision in the next few days.

I would love to hear your opinions on the Carrera vs. the Boxster, and some details about your purchase.

happy driving.

Hermann.

Hi Hermann:

I got a 2003 C4 Cab last summer. To put things in perspective, I drove 10+ Boxsters. I drove 1 911. I love the Cayman's looks (from the back), but if you've got the extra dough the 911 is an all round better car in my opinion and doesn't suffer from the Boxster's depreciation. That said the Boxster is a great intro to Porsche driving.

Cheers,

Alf

Hello Hermann!

A world of difference...,

The first thing i can say... the Boxster is i think more ''Sporty'' you drive it like a goKart. If you intend to do track event with the Porsche Club this is i think the best car to drive in a close circuit.

The 911 is more quiet inside then the Boxster and of corse the biggest difference is

THE TORQUE...Wow what a difference. You depress the pedal and POW your are lunch like a plane....absolutely fantastic.

I used to have many Porsche in my life and for me the real Porsche is still the 911.When i drove for the first time my new 911 C4 i immediatly said this is a real Porsche this is what you are looking for when you drive a Porsche.

There is no substitute...

Hope this help

New forum member, and first post here - had a 1999 Boxster about 6 years ago, and then we parted ways. Last week just got a 2004 C4S cab. Found it on the internet in Cali, and bought it without a test drive or firsthand look. Was a little nervous, but when it arrived it lived up to my expectations.

My boxster had less power, but you could feel it was lighter weight. The finish work was OK, but interior quality wasn't close to the 911. Granted, these are different cars, and were produced 5 years apart. The 911 has a lot more "kick" and feels more solid. I put a BB sport exhaust on the Boxster, which had a fantastic sound. The 911 has sport exhaust, which also sounds great.

Hey Guys.

Purchased my 1998 (Rest of World) Carrera 996 yesterday (1999 model in the states), C2, Burgundy, 6 Speed, 50K Km (about 35k Miles), full leather interior in Camel color.

What a great day. Had meetings all morning long followed by a great long lunch with dad.... talked for 3 hours, Great food and wine (....we decided we have to resume playing golf on weekends together sometime soon, after I told him how I miss seeing him since I had the triplets!!!.)

Then back to the office for 45 minutes to sign papers, close up before the weekend and off to meet my seller.

Papers, Check... Insurance, Check... Keys and other deliverables...check. Baby slept alone in the garage, although I thought about going down to check on her a few times overnight. (I checked on my triplets instead.)

I spent today with my wife driving around town, seeing how it feels and getting used to the feel of a new (For me of course) Porsche 911. She loved it, except for the getting in and out of the car when wearing heels.

I am going to the car races tomorrow, driving about an hour and a half to the track. Ill let you guys know how it feels on the highway.

Will be posting some Pics sometime soon. Cant tell you how nice it feels to stomp the gas and feel the seat pressing on my back.

cheers,

Hermann.
