Power Window Fuse Popping

Recommended Posts

Fuse C3 -- 15A -- CU ALARM, CL POWER WINDOW, SUN ROOF, CU POWER TOP, INSIDE LIGHT

You may need to eliminate each other possibility.

Loren, thanks for the reply, the top goes up and down fine, and the windows lower and raise with the top. With this fuse blown the door locks do not work, nor do the interior lights. The alarm seems to work though, at least it beeps.

I did just put a new latch on the drivers side, maybe it is the locking mechanism? Alarm beeps when you press the button, and beeps twice when you manually lock the door.

Sorry, was thinking about the wrong car - no relays for the window motors.

C3 fuses - interior alarm sensor, central locking button, tilt sensor, sun sensor and the external consumer terminal.

Hi Loren, looking at the fuse diagram I see that there are other fuses for the locks, windows and alarm. Could I take these fuses out, put C3 back in and then put the others back one at a time and see which cause C3 to blow?

All fixed, with the door open, fuse did not pop, close door slightly, fuse pops. Took door panel off, jiggled wires, nothing out of the ordinary, put it back together in stages, no fuse pop. All back together, and it is working fine, odd that I didn't find any thing actually wrong. Although I did park it on the curb the other night, I would be upset too.
