Engine bogs (cel blinking) HELP please!

Recommended Posts

These are the codes I got.

P1128

P1130

P0430

P1121

These are the codes the just appears. The O2 sensors I know because I'm running a cat bypass. I still have to put the O2 simulator / spacer to trick the O2. And MAF is bad. I need to replace it.

The CEL light blinks for 10 seconds and then it becomes solid. Is it safe?

When I drive the car it bogs at 1k to 2k... at when cold. When it's warmed up it doesn't bog anymore. What could it be?

If you are going to run without cats then you need to find someone to program the DME for no cats - otherwise you will always get faults.

Can you explain more of DME I have no knowledge on that. I'm aware that it will throw codes about the cat bypass. I'm ok with the CEL on (if it's about the cat bypass). But I'm just curious what the bogging is and I need to fix/replace my MAF.

With US/Canada DME programs the DME looks at before and after cat O2 sensor readings and adjusts the mixture depending on what it sees. Without the cats that DME program will never be able to adjust the mixture correctly - because there is no change in readings (no cats).

There is a German DME program that only uses the O2 sensors before the cats that some have tried. But I caution you that in some states you can be fined for defeating emissions systems on a street car.

You would need a PST2 or PIWIS tester and your car's IPAS codes to change the DME program.

Both of my cars are running RoW (European) software. I happen to be in a state that does not have inspections, but as far as I understand, if your state does check for fault codes during an inspection, you will still pass. However, if you actually get smogged and/or have a visual inspection (i.e. California), that's going to be an issue.
