Hello,

It seems that when I press the horn, only one frequency comes out as if only one of the two horns works. Has anyone experienced this problem? Is it easy to replace? Can someone point me to a service manual or provide a drawing (location, etc.). I would really appreciate your help.

I have a 2007 997 C2.

Thanks,

Andry

Loren,

Thanks for the quick reply. Can you recommend a good replacement (part number if possible) and if so, then where's a good place to buy them?

Thanks in advance,

Andry

I took out my two horns and replaced then with the Griots Italian Air Horns. http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/car+accessories/exterior+accessories/ultra+compact+air+horns.do

Loren,

That's great help! I really appreciate your quick response. BTW, would you have a link or instructions to help me locate the current horns? Also, if I go with the air horn you suggested, do I need two or just one?

Again, thanks!

Andry

The horns are behind the front bumper on the right side.

You will need to remove the front bumper to get to them (covered elsewhere - please do a search).

Search did you yield anything. Can you help me...2007 997 front bumper?

Thanks.

OK. Now I will type like I'm literate. "Search" did not yield anything on front bumper removal. Can you help me find that thread? My car is a 2007 997, and I'm a big fan of louder horns in competitive big city traffic.

Does the Griot's Italian air horn that you recommended have any lag time while the air builds up? This used to be a problem with air horns that did not involve an air tank.

Thanks,

Bob

I added the Griot's Italian air horns last summer. Their is no problem what so ever. I left my OEM horns installed and really like it. If I touch the horn with a quick tap you get a quick response from the stock horns. If you lay on the horns a split second longer you get both. The sound is much better and people know you are there.

The photo below is the Italian Horn installed right above my 3rd radiator and below the latch.
