Valentine Concealed Display install on a 996 Cab?

Recommended Posts

This past weekend I installed my Valentine One by hard wiring into the dome light. Worked perfectly. I have a short cable coming from behind the dome light and the unit is mounted on the windshield just left of the rear view mirror. The only issue is that with the top down it's pretty **** obvious I have a radar detector. So I want to install the concealed display which I purchased at the same time as the main unit. In order to do this I suppose I'd need to run the line through the windshield frame and behind the dash. Are there any DIYs that show how to remove the padding trim on the interior side of the windshield frame? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim

Sure they are legal in Texas but if you do get pulled for speeding having a radar detector could be the difference in him letting you off on a warning and writing you a ticket. Besides, I bought the concealed unit and what's the point if I don't install it?

Why do you care if it's obvious you have a radar detector? Is TX one of the states like Virginia, where they are illegal? I sport mine proudly in NJ.
