Need help with Durametric code - 9121

Recommended Posts

I have noticed that in the past week that I will get a brief message on my display in my 2004 996 saying that the oil pressure alert is malfunctioning. It appears that the analog oil pressure gauge is working (as far as I can tell). I hooked up my Durametric unit and go tthe following error message:

Instrument Cluster : 9121 Oil Pressure (status: not present)

Is this something that I need to fix ASAP?

Is it hard to fix myself?

Any other comments would be appreciated.

Thanks - Steve

Loren - Thanks for the advice. I did a search of the archives and have come across some excellent tutorials on how to replace the oil pressure sender.

BTW - I found the following wrench at Amazon that will also do the trick as the type of wrench was referenced in a couple of the articles:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003DA5Q2G

It is $9 with free shipping if you have an Amazon Prime Account
