2003 cayenne abs module/pump part numbers

Recommended Posts

What does the letter at the end of this part number mean ???

I have been looking for a replacement part 7LO 907 379 C which is the abs module, I have found a few on line but they all have diffrent letters at the end.

I was told that they are all the same, they all have a vw badge on them

would 7LO 907 379 F which is the one for a 3.2 cayenne do the job in my 4.5 s ?

hope someone can help me i'm pulling my hair out ! why do they make it so complicated

:welcome:

That is not a finished part number - most likely an assembly number or vendor number.

Porsche (Cayenne) part numbers usually start with 955.xxx.xxx.xx.

The hydraulic unit for the ABS will need to be ordered based on your VIN (early builds only) - they sell for about $1000 MSRP.

hi thanks for the reply

the hydraulic pump is 955 355 955 04

the other number is for the control unit attached to the pump

I was told by a VW parts person that the letter denotes a part change up. For example, part 955 123 456 A would be replaced by 955 123 456 B. I believe this has some grain of truth as I have seen parts with a high failure rate with part numbers up to "F" when the original part number ended in "00".

What is the original problem that you are having that pointed you to the ABS system as the fault?

had warning light with "brake dispropotioning" and when it was plugged into the fault codes pointed towards the pressure sensor as it gave crazy readings and the pressure would jump about.

I changed the brake pressure sensor with no joy,

have now swapped the abs pump and module and it has solved the problem,

my new problem is the the steering angle sensor needs set, does anyone know how to calabarate this ???

You will need Durametric, a PST2 or PIWIS tester to re-calibrate the steering angle sensor.

There is a basic setting you can do.

With the engine running and the steering wheel point straight ahead, turn the wheel past the 45 degrees in each direction then drive straight forward for several meters. This often resets the unit but if it needs to be zeroed and re-calibrated then you the tools Loren mentioned.
