Sequential Shifter

Recommended Posts

I am intrigued by the sequential shifter someone installed in a 6 speed. I did a little research and found that Cartronic is the manufacturer. Has anyone tried it, and how much did it cost? There seem to be several versions. Since you still use the clutch, is it worth giving up the ability to skip gears?

ToolPants posted a picture of my car... here is a picture of the console put back together...

(note that I switched the normally leather front side parts and the center (rear) armrest parts out to be arctic silver)

I have and I like it.

They cost around $4k, but I had lots going on and cannot tell you an exact price.

It took a few hours (about 4 I think) to have installed.

Your question..."is it worth it'?

It was for me, but I imagine it is not 'worth it' for many people as it does not add HP. However, part of why I did it was that almost nobody has it.... and I like that.

It does not bother me to not be able to 'skip' gears as with only a 2.5" throw (from vertical) it really is no big deal to 'ratchet' up or down through the gears.

My car is presently for sale... I may have the shifter pulled and sold on the side.
