2002 996/911 performance chip , does this work ?

Please do a search for after market "chip" tuning here as there have been many discussions.

I think you will find that on a normal aspirated (non-turbo) Porsche this is a waste of money. You will never see 30 HP with a chip alone and may even lose torque in the mid-RPM area.

Thanks Loren, it did sound to good to be true, especially for about $70.00 , but how about those OVERPRICED Porsche ones that charge about $600.00 for a similar chip ? You all know the ones I'm referring to , are any of these any good, not just for my 911 , but how about my M-3 , or for that matter any of them ??? DC

Porsche has gotten most of the power they can out of their normally aspirated engines. Some chips are even $1000 but you would need one of those, headers, and low restriction cats to come close to 30 HP.

Not usually worth the money - especially when you could trade up for a Turbo and almost double your HP.

+1 on that!
