Rattling noise when warm but quiet when cold

Hi,

I bought a Boxster S, 987, from 2005 that has run 78000 km. I noticed that when the engine is warm/hot I can hear a rattling noise but when it´s cold it´s quiet. Well except from the wonderful sound that engine is supposed to make! Can it be the valves or the chain? Is this normal?

I don´t think it´s a heat shield since the rattle increases with the rev. Sounds more like it´s coming from inside the engine. But I´ll have a look at the heat shields as well. Where are they placed? Do I need to open the "hood"?

The heat shields are under the car around the mufflers and cats.
