My 2004 GT3 Guards Red, PCCB, is on the truck to me in Seattle

I will put in Euro seats, bar, Schroth harness which I am moving over from my 2002 C2.

I will also have a corner balance and alienment the day of delivery. Do not know enough to ask for any help yet except: Does anyone track DE/lapping days with PCCBs? If so are they as bad as I am hearing now that I got them?

If yours is an '04 you have Gen 1 PCCB's- go over to rennlist and see what people say about tracking them- they'll talk you into steel rotors for the track. I originally was going to get them but am glad now I didn't. Big debate over pad types as well, and of course tires. You may want to drive it a little before you align it so everything settles- just a thought...

Congrats, you will love the car. I agree with skl, although it is possible you won't have PCCB problems on the track, I think the risk is too high. Damage can occur quickly, frankly they are a safety hazard IMO. Gert Carnewal sells a kit with everything you need to switch to iron here.

On a track that is hard on brakes, PCCB can be destroyed on the very first track day. I witnessed this myself on a friend's car. The surface of the front discs delaminated with multiple 3/4" sized areas fractured off the face of the discs. The car was being driven by a good driver, so I can't fault the driver for error. The GT3 is heavy for a track car, it is not worth compromising on the brakes. Swap them out.

Your friends car... when was this? That sounds more like a defect than heat. Does anyone else have something like this?

I have yet to hear that the rotors do not out last the irons. It is the return on investment. Can you get the to last long enough?

I understand your position. What I don't understand is why Porsche let us all down. As skl suggested, search Rennlist for PCCB. Here are some samples:

The guy who got 9000 miles "strongly suggests" getting rid of them here.

A brake failure story leading to arbitration here.
