PCM1 cassette player schematics

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I got a 2001 Carrera4 which is equipped with the PCM1.0 and its cassette player. It would be great if someone has the cassette player electronics schematics which can share with me. I am planning to modify it to play any external line source.

I am aware of using the CD player for the same purposes but I want to keep it working.

thanks everyone and happy 2013.

Hi, no answer yet... If I am in the mood I may disassemble the cassette player and try to find where I can inject the external audio (I am electronic engineer) keeping everything else working.

As for the CD player you can insert audio through the plug C3 behind the PCM1. It is the blue one on the top right when looking the PCM from the back. Connections are:

pin 19: Audio Left

pin 20: Audio Right

pin 18: Ground

You'll need to keep a CD in the player.

sure, definitely that's also an option but the amp has 4 inputs for the front/rear and left/right balance capabilities. Ideally we would need to patch the audio before the balancing and equalization is done inside the PCM.

If I finally decide to hack the cassette side I'll create a tutorial for it.
