991 electronic coding options? PIWIS enabled?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, made the jump from a 996 to a 991 and was curious if there was any electronic coding options that could be done via PIWIS? Examples would be activating the passenger side mirror for reverse and controlling the windows via remote. I have heard there are things that can be done but just curious what options were available. :)

Yes, man changes can be made -- and options added.

Options require a Porsche AG electronic approval (i.e. proof that you paid for the option).

Simple re-programming of standard systems is fairly easy - some dealers/OPCs will charge for this (usually just labor) and some will not.

Loren, is there a list of these options which can be turned on? Even if I have to pay the dealer they might be worth it. Wonder if there are some Euro options that can be done as well similar to what Vag-Com can do for VW and Audi cars. Thanks

Yes, you can turn on options with payment. But they may not be able to give you options outside of your delivery area (usually country). This would include anything emissions or otherwise "regulated" by country.

As I said some options require Porsche approval so if Germany says know then they can not even sell it to you. That is my understanding.
