Information on oil level is currently not available

Recommended Posts

1. Changed oil Sat

2. Yesterday green indicator showed maximum level oil.

3. 100 mile drive, green indicator showed mid way between maximum and minimum.

4. On return trip the amber warning showed minimum oil level.

5. 30 minutes after return home, I added 500 ml or 1/2 liter as the manual states 1-2liter capacity between minimum and maximum.

6. The manual states: Measuring the oil level after topping up engine oil or opening the engine compartment lid

The oil level can be checked after waiting for approx. 2 minutes with the vehicle parked on a level surface and the engine at operating temperature.

7. I seem to get "information on oil level is currently not available.

8. I drove 10 miles and repeatedly tried without success.

ANY ADVICE APPRECIATED.

Thanks

I reset the Oil Maintenance Mileage and wala .... my oil check worked right away.

So apparently if the Maintenance Oil change reset is not done, you will not get the oil level information.

500 ml of oil took me from minimum level to one notch below maximum level.

So if three notches equals 500 ml, dare I add 100ml more.

I have not.

On my 2012 Cayenne CTT, I believe you need to drive about 20 miles once you've opened hood in order to check oil level via the console.   Until then it will read unavailable.   If I recall correctly, one half quart will raise it up one notch.
