Maunual trnasmission oil level

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone ,

I have a dilemma , I am having the manual transmission oil changed at repair shop and there is some confusion to recommended fluid level . Pelican parts diy states 11mm below filler hole. Other sources state to the threads of filler hole. What is factory recommendation?

Welcome to RennTech :welcome:

That 11MM below the fill hole only applies to 5 speed Boxster transmissions; yours should be filled until it comes out the fill hole.  And be sure they only refill it with the factory lubricant, not aftermarket stuff.

Okay will do. It is odd though that the Pelican Parts website specifically states the Carrera Manual transmission and makes no mention of the boxster. I will follow what you say , it makes the most sense logically. Thank you.

Just be aware that source has made more than one mistake in their instructions.  If you want a quality technical source, get the Bentley 996 manual, which is much better.
