I need to take my 04 V6 Cayenne in for a few repairs and an oil change. I am also going to take the opportunity to have a few of the TSB type things done as well.

Where do I find a list of the current service items? And does anyone have the TSB that go with the following issues:

My PCM does not seem to undersatnd when to change to AM or PM on the 12 hour clock setting. Whenever I am in the car around lunch, the clock still reads 12:43 AM. Trivial but it dirves me nutty.

The improved remote unlock unit. I currently have to be within 5 or 6 feet and then have to hit the button just right for it to work.

The transmission control unit upgrade has a TSB I think, but I do not know what number is.

The auto-up on the drivers window works only about a third of the time. I know how to reset it, but again something small that is driving me nuts.

I know it may sound like I am whining, but I absolutely love this car and would not trade it in for anything else - well maybe a TT.

Thanks in advance for the help.

The TSBs are all grouped by number. Porsche uses the same sequence for sports cars and suvs. The number sequence follows the factory service manual sections to make it easier for the technicians. For instance Group 1: Engine would have TSBs starting with "1xxx" and Group 4: Running Gear would have TSBs starting with "4xxx". Here is the general sequence:

Group 0: Entire Vehicle

Group 0: Diagnois, Part 1

Group 0: Diagnois, Part 2

Group 1: Engine

Group 2: Fuel, Exhaust, Engine Electronics

Group 3: Transmission

Group 4: Running Gear

Group 5: Body

Group 6: Body Exterior

Group 7: Body Interior

Group 8: Air Conditioning

Group 9: Electrics

Some items are covered under "Campaign Information". These are also included with the TSBs and are labeled with "W" numbers. "W" is for Workshop Service Action. Porsche started a Cayenne Quality-improvement Workshop Campaign in the Fall/Winter of 2004. For a complete listing go to the Contributing Members forum and read the Cayenne item "Cayenne Quality-improvement Workshop Campaign, Fall/Winter 2004" pinned at the top of the forum.

Your dealer should check your VIN against all of these outstanding WSA's and perform any that are needed - at no charge. Some of the items you describe are simple software updates to the PCM2 and DME.

Loren - thanks for the help. I did have one additional question - I do not see the W500 series in TSB section. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Thanks again for the help.

Yeah, those that are listed in the Cayenne Quality-improvement Workshop Campaign were only sent to dealers. If I can get a hold them I will post them. They will all have a VIN list with them since not all Cayenne's were affected.

Here is an update on my service items:

They are giving me a new PCM - they say that will fix the problem. They are saying the remote unlock is working fine and as luck would have it after two weeks of not working the auto up on the window has been working since I dropped it off at the dealer.

All that means is some stuff will be fixed this time, but I will have to make another trip on another day!
