PIWIS Durametric Hardware Diagnostics

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone could assist with the Durametric OBDII 16 Pin interface connector diagnosis.

When the Interface is connected to the vehicle, the LED light status, stay Blue and does not change to green as suggested by Durametric's instructions.

Please note that the software has been installed properly with the respective drivers on Windows 7 and also I have tried installing the software in another laptop with Windows 10.

I guess the next step is check the voltages at a component level.

My question is, does anyone have a voltage check list for this interface?

Many thanks.IMG_3165.thumb.JPG.fed2ffe0352ea824670d2179734d5c61.JPG

Many thanks for replying.

yes, it's been purchase from Durametric and I have covered all the possibilities with Owen, not sure of his title at Durametric.

This is his reply:

Hello Sergio,

Thank you for contacting Durametric. Please use these steps in attempt to recover the cable:

1. Connect the cable between the car (ignition on) and computer.

2. Note the status of the cable's LED. It should be flashing red.

2. Start the Durametric Program.

3. When prompted with the bootloader message, click OK. A file browser window should appear.

4. In the window that appears, select the "VCI_16_04_25.dfw" file and click Open. This file is typically found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Durametric Software Inc\Durametric 6.

The LED on the cable should begin flashing blue and then turn steady green. When the firmware install is complete, you may be prompted to restart the Durametric program.

If you continue to experience any trouble, let us know.

We use the Durametric system in the shop every day, generally without incident.  Owen is trying to walk you through a firmware update which should resolve your issues.  Did you try what he suggested?

We looked the other system and found it lacking in several areas, which is why we stayed with Durametric, which has about 80-85% if the functionality of the factory PIWIS system.
