Hi there. I am looking for information on how to tell the PCM 3.0 to enable the camera input.

I am NOT looking for a camera after-market solution.

Here's what I know :

PCM 3.0 has an RGB input

My guess is the PCM 3.0 needs a trigger to switch to that input.

Now, I cannot find a "wire" that triggers it. My guess is the trigger comes from a CAN message. I am looking for this at the moment. I want to see if I can get the PCM 3.0 to switch to the RGB input upon a CAN message on the bus.

I also wonder if the said CAN message is sent from the optional Rearview camera that detects the gear lever going to reverse.

Has anyone experienced with this ?

I don't think reverse camera was ever an option on the 997 PCM3.0.  On the Cayenne with PCM3.0 the camera outputs were connected to the TV tuner, and the TV tuner to the PCM.

My guess is that you would have to code the PCM to add the TV tuner feature.  Trouble is that this requires an Activation Code, which needs entering with a PIWIS tester.  Not only that, but you would have to work out how to tell the PCM to switch to the TV input when the camera is required.  There is a connection shown on the wiring diagram for the PCM labelled 'Back Cam' (with nothing connected to it), so that could be it.  However, I suspect it is much more complicated than that.
