1973 911T, not started for 30 years

Hi

I have the chance to buy a 1973 911t that has been sitting in a garage and not been started in 30 years. Other than draining the fluids and replacing them, what else do you recommend I do before trying to start it? I haven't seen the car yet and was told it has 75k miles.

Any idea what a fair price would be?

I had a 73t back in 1985 and loved it but had it sell it to pay for my grad school tuition.

Thank you very much in advance.

Welcome to RennTech :welcomeani:

Drain and replace all fluids (including gas), pull the plugs and spray the cylinder's with engine fogging oil, let the car sit overnight, then turn the engine over by had to free everything up. Once loose, put in fresh plugs and light it off, expecting it to smoke a bit at first.

Thank you. Didn't know about the fogging oil. Turning it over by hand makes lots of sense.

Fogging oil is commonly used on long period stored engines to prevent rust and keeps the rings sticking to the pistons over time; cheap insurance. It will also free up stuck rings to prevent any damage to the cylinder liners when recommissioning engines that have been in storage.
