IMS HELP MY05 987 Boxster S

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I am hoping someone out there can help me on the IMS Bearing.

Engine Serial number is M96/2662506441.

The car was manufactured 04/05

My baby just clocked 31000 miles.

Does this engine have the update 2006 Bearing?

Or is this the single row  bearing that can be replaced?

As FYI, I just the oil and the magnetic drain plug did not show anything abnormal.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Absolutely none of that information will identify which style bearing is in the engine; the only proven way to tell is to pull the trans, clutch, and flywheel, and then look at the size of the center bolt.  If it is 22MM, you have the non serviceable style bearing.

Good luck.
