Evening people , first question as a first time Porsche owner and hopefully a simple one.

Before i take the drivers side door panel off to investigate should i have a flashing alarm LED on both front doors as only the passenger side one is flashing when i set the alarm ?

Thanks in advance , Kenny (2012 ,Cayenne)

Looks like a door panel off job to investigate.

Just an update , the little LED is not available on its own even though the part can be removed easily from the door trim . So if you want a flashing LED it only comes with the door panel at £1200 + Vat (20%) , i dont think i will bother.

False - it can be ordered separately.  It looks like the part number is 7PP919238 (possibly with "A" or "B" at the end). Could you verify?

If so, they can be purchased for less then €10.

The other option is to replace the LED yourself, but I'm not sure of the level of your fine-motor skills or patience.. 😉

PET shows that up to 06-11-2016 the LEDs weren't handed, as PET shows one part number for both sides (7PP 919 238) which is now superceded to 7PP 919 238B.  £6.06 GBP incl. VAT.  I suspect the Touran part I listed is the same, as it just has a different number prefix.

My faulty one is on the drivers side (UK).

Just been having a look through a US dealers (Atlanta) website and have just came across the very parts drawing you have posted. Mine is a `13 model so i dont know if the ones from 11/16 >> will fit , the one shown looks similar to the VW ones but not the same as the one shown on P85 of the parts drawings :
