BOXSTER top opened halfway then stopped.

It would then move a few inches up or down then stopped completely. I hear the relays click when I press the up or down button and I see the door lights dim slightly as if there is a current draw. Could this be the roof  motor? Thanks!

OK I checked the motor it seems to be OK. The cables seem to be good I can use a drill on the cables on each side to move the transmission and the roof. However when I use the motor it works fine on the right side but on the left side it may move an inch and then just click and after that only click. This is with all the rods disconnected so the transmission is isolated. Is it possible it works with the drill because it has a lot more power than the electric motor? Has anyone heard of the motor just getting weak and not being able to produce much torque as a symptom of malfunction? I will open it up and inspect it but it just seems strange that it runs fine from the drill.

Good day,

Have you resolved the sunroof movement issue on your Boxster?  It appears I am having the same or at least a similar issue and would like to know if you’ve found success.

Regards.
