thinking about getting an 01 C4, for use as a daily driver.  I drive 25 miles into boston everyday and want to hear from those who use their C4 as a daily driver.  Can I go skiing with 1 or 2 kids in it???

We use a 2001 911 C2 as a daily driver and drive 50-100 miles a day.

Buying used..........get an 02 or later if you can, otherwise whatever.

Hitting the slopes......if you've gotten 8"s the nite before & no plowing early, clearance can be some issue.

Otherwise.......get the Porsche roof rack option.....some winter wheels/tires......and throw the kids in.......great fun.

I've driven all-wheel Pcars in WI winters as 'dailys' for 10-15 yrs......thoroughly enjoy it.

I generally tell people that (for me anyway) driving on the ice & snow is loads of fun cause it's like winter practice for summer autocrossing.

I Have a C4 and eventhough I don't use it as a daily driver, I do take my car skiing. The most important thing are the snow tires.

As far as the kids are concerned, well I hope they are small because from what I remember there is not a lot of room in the back. Especially if you decided to go for a 1 hr+ drive to the slopes.

the car i'm looking at is a 2001 C4 w/ 16k. Has the right options, I know the owner and the car is in fantastic shape. I can buy for 45k. I am familiar w/ RMS issues. I have 3 kids(and a suburban) will be selling my other 2 cars (84 3.2 Carrera and 01 540) if I buy this. My wife wants me to have just one car, and have considered Audi S4, New beemers, or Cayenne. Strangely enough my wife wants me to buy a Cayenne. If it were up to me and me alone, I'd get a beater jeep and a boxster S.
