Problem with fitting Aerokit Cup II front bumper

Recommended Posts

Several weeks ago I purchased from Suncoast Porsche the aerokit front bumper and rear spoiler. I have now had them painted and installed, however I am having a problem on the fit of the front bumper.

The car is a 2002 Carrera Coupe C2 in arctic silver. The parts I ordered (and received) are the aerokit Cup II which were designed to fit on my car. All parts were new and came primed with all hardware required to install these parts.

These parts were installed by my local Porsche dealership. The technician has over 35 years experience servicing Porsches and has installed several of these aerokits. He was as perplexed as I was as to the fit. The bumper does not line up properly with the hood such that the gap between the two increases from centre point to each side. It also appears that the hood sits up and over the bumper from a front view (almost like an overbite). I have attached several photos to show what I am referring to.

Given that the parts are OEM, new (never installed), the car has NEVER been in an accident to cause this misalignment, the installation was done by a factory-trained technician at a Porsche dealership, I am stumped as to how to fix this fitment issue. Does anyone have any prior experience with this problem and if so, what remedies can be taken to fit the bumper properly?

I appreciate anyone's feedback and help on this. :(

I just tried as per your recommendation, adjusting the two screws under the plastic liner. I loosened them and then pulled the bumper out a little, then retightened them. I has made a difference in the look by evening out the gap between the trunk lid and the bumper (less variation from the centre point to each side.

Looks alot better now, but I am goiing to have the dealership finish the fine tuning as that's what they have been paid for.

Thanks again!
