Dealer Cant Turn On OBC

Recommended Posts

took my 2002 boxster to the local dealer and asked him to turn on the outside temp.

he drove it around back and when he brought it back he told me that it cant be done.

he said that they have a new computer that wont do it and that porsche wised up to this a while back.

he also said that owners were running a piece of wire to make it work and that had been defeated also.

can anyone tell me the straight story and if hes misinformed what he should do?

thanks

Wrong! All you need to do is make sure that the Order Type in DME is set to 986310 for a Boxster or 986320 for a Boxster S. Once that is set you exit the DME. Then go to Instrument Cluster, Modify Coding and change the setting.

Here are some pics of the 2nd part of the process: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...indpost&p=34584

Where are you located?
