Engine cutting out

Having an issue where power to the engine cuts out suddenly, kicks on the CEL for about 1 second, then power comes back and CEL shuts off. Checked for codes non existing or pending. This can happen at highway speeds or stoped at a light. Only thing done to car is K&N filter about 5000 miles ago. Any thoughts?

probably the mass air flow sensor is screwed up from the K&N the oil on the filter is known to be problematic in German cars. You can try cleaning it, but a lot of times people may need to replace them with brand new ones.
