Front bumper warts

gibbons

Recommended Posts

I'm new to the forum and have reviewed a ton of threads but haven't found this topic yet. If it's a repeat I apologize.

I have a 2001 996 TT. It is an early 2001 and has the front bumper warts. I'm not crazy about the idea of replacing the entire front of the car and would like to be able to remove the warts and leave the factory front in place. A couple of places I've asked say there's no way to repair the gaping holes the removed bumpers leave - at least no way to make it look good. A new front is the only real option.

Has anyone else successfully removed warts and kept the original factory bumper?

Thanks,

Chip

I am in the same boat Chip. You would think that there are probably a lot of stock, wartless bumpers out there that have been discarded for a fancy after market cover. All you guys that are sitting on genuine Porsche front bumper covers (late 01 to 05) need to set those parts free. There are deformed 996 TT's out there that need those parts (Lapis Blue).

I found someone on another site that does wish to set his "part" free--it is a slate gray one--but he wants 2000 dollars for it. That is beaucoup d'argent to cure a few warts.
