Spanish media affirms that GT3 engine is the same one of a 997 Carrera

As incredible as it sounds, km77.com, the most reliable source of information in Spanish affirms, as above mentioned, that the 997 GT3 engine is the same one of a Carrera (not S).

Of course it’s not so, however, I’d need some kind of technical paper or official data sheet or some sort of convincing info in order to proof the media that the statement is very wrong.

They're basing that comment stricly on the displacement of 3.6, vs 3.8 of the Carrera S. The writer seems to have no idea that the only similarities between the Carrera 3.6 and the GT3 3.6 is the displacement and the horizontal 6 layout. After that, he's simply making the mistaken assumption that they must have the same engine.

Definitivamente, en km77.com están completamente y rotundamente equivocados. Los motores de un GT3 y el de un Carrera, ya sea Carrera o Carrera S, son completamente distintos. Desafortunadamente para mí ya que poseo un Carrera S con la opción X51, aunque preferiría que los Carrera tuviesen el mismo motor que un GT3 aunque con una potencia menor, para que así no usurpen el lugar del GT3 en la jerarquía de los coches Porsche.
