Code In PCM

Recommended Posts

I have a problem I just hope you can help me.

The Navigation Unit PCM1 has a code and the PCM display has other code.

But, where is stored the code? one in the navi unit and other in display?,

or is stored in the car memory ?

I want to replace navi unit but seller has not code card, he says code is the same I have in my old navi unit. but I dont see clear because I have seen new pcm navi unit with a grey code card.

HELP!!!

Maybe you solved your problem but I think the PCM code is connected to the chassinumber so if you know the Chassinumber of the car the Navigator comes from then any Porsche Center can supply you with the 2 codes one for the radio and one for the Navi system.

There are two seperate codes, one for PCM and one for navigation.

If the unit was working and the battery was disconnected then the unit should only need the PCM code, The Nav code is put into the unit only once when first commissioned.

Disconnect the battery, then reconnect the battery - you should find it will only require the PCM code.

occassionally the logic circuits become illogical after a power down and the Nav will ask for the code- a second disconnect usually puts this right.
