Recommended Posts

I want to update my navigation unit (996.642.122.00 EFR) -boxster MY99-

996.642.122.03 EFR

and

996.642.122.12 EWD

Just the same part number? any difference?

I need to know ... Can I use any of them with no problem?

996.642.122.03 EFR was used through model year 2001

996.642.122.12 EWD was used in model year 2002 (pre MOST and PCM2)

If you have an older version of PCM in your car you will need to re-program the instrument cluster to match the PCM unit or your total mileage and fuel consumption will not match the PCM unit.

I want to update to pcm 16 bits. Only necessary replacing cd reader, and update to version 5.43 with a update disc. WRONG? :(

My actual pcm is 996.642.122.00 EFR (cd reader), I have bought cd reader 996.642.122.12 EWD and I have master update disc. Any Problem?

THANKS LOREN!!!
