  4. Hi, I'd really appreciate help recovering the anti-theft code for my radio. Car: 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera (996) Coupe Radio: Porsche CDR-210 (Becker) Type: R 3297 Serial number: W5022869 Both numbers were read directly off the radio using the TONE + 8/0 procedure (PR-VERS, then SERIAL N) — not from paperwork. Photos of the display attached. Thank you very much for your help.

  6. Following up, though the top isn't 100% sorted yet. POTs 1 and 2 were on the car when I got it, I didn't change them. I changed the arm on POT 2, before my first post here, because mine was broken, but not the pot itself. I assume at some point these worked on the car. Looking at the actual and stored values from above (and copied below), Pot 2 (conv. top compartment. lid), when reset to 6.25k ohms, was showing an actual value of 2.51 v. The stored value at fully open was 2.71 v. So, following this thread (which presented the same issues I was having), I removed POT 2 and the motor from the clamshell transmission and advanced it using a 9v battery in tiny increments, then plugged it back into the control module to read actual values, until the wide open actual value was 2.71 v. Then the top actually opened fully and closed to the point that the latch would latch. With the clamshell fully closed, I got an actual value of 1.55v, which is identical to what had been stored. POT 2 is close, and apparently close enough to not need recalibration: stored value 1 is 0.80v, and I'm reading an actual value when closed of 0.83. Along the way, I managed to strip one of the side flaps, so that's off the car for a 3d print solution, but I believe that's the last thing I need to do: top seems to open and close as expected. Without software calibration. Will post again once the entire system is 100%. I have not tried calibrating again. Keith From above (I can't unsee it, now: 2.51v at fully open is not 2.71 v): Pot 2 (conv. top compartment. lid) 2.51 v Calibration: Pot 1 val 1 0.80 v Calibration: Pot 1 val 2 1.27 v Calibration: Pot 1 val 3 1.88 v Calibration: Pot 1 val 4 2.29 v Calibration: Pot 1 val 5 2.96 v Calibration: Pot 1 val 6 3.22 v Calibration: Pot 2 val 1 1.55 v Calibration: Pot 2 val 2 1.82 v Calibration: Pot 2 val 3 2.00 Calibration: Pot 2 val 4 2.71
  7. That worked! Thanks alot🙂

  9. Hi, CDR-220 BE6625 Serial: 25015732 Could you please help me with the radio code?
  10. Nailed it! Thank you!!

  12. Hi! Here’s what it shows for the serial number.
  13. Which tells me there is nothing wrong with either your guides or the chains themselves. Looking at the photos you posted of the guides, they look like the newer design, possibly indicating that they have already been replaced. If that is the case, the debris in your sump may be the wear bits from the old units.
  14. Cam deviation position 1: -0.36 Cam deviation position 2: 0.58
  15. The serial number determines the radio code. I must have the serial number to help you.
  16. Cdr-220. Can you help with a code for y5042409 ? This newbie thanks you!
  17. What were the cam deviation values for the engine? Spec is +/- 6 degrees; when these cam pads are too worn, we see deviation values in the high single digits due to excessive slack in the chains.
  18. Took the driver side cam cover off today. The outer guide seems like it has very little wear. The long rails look like they are wearing, but doesn't explain the black plastic pieces. Does the amount of wear on the lower rail warrant replacing?

  20. Just be sure to get the latest version, we have never had any problems with the OEM replacements.
  21. From your mouth to my ears! Done, thanks.
  22. 2016 Macan S Ignition Coils Hi all. Changing plugs for 1st time at 52k miles and seems I should change coils as well. In addition to Porsche Genuine, several options available-Bremi, APR, Beru. Any recommendations?
  23. Timing chain tensioners wear pads. I bought a neglected Boxster where the owner kept driving and the pieces eventually blocked the oil pickup and wiped out a rod bearing. You should change them even though they’ve likely been done once at that mileage.
  24. No better sound than a sport exhaust on a Porsche!
  25. That is just magic! Thanks. I mostly like to hear the engine purr but I do like to have everything working.
  26. Try 9085
  27. I picked up a 1998 Boxster and the radio code is nowhere to be found. Please help. Serial number is. V5016831 I looked through and tried all the codes listed with no luck. Thanks
  28. I was just thinking about cutting the gray pink wire myself. Were you ever able to resolve this? Our stories seem very similar.
