  1. Thanks. Found a place who selling it with the update cd.
  2. Thank you for you guys' clarification before placing the order. BTW, how am I able to check what version is my Bose Amp? Last question, I was told the update CD P/N 000.043.205.47.002 is part of the PCM update kit. Now the current release is 2015/2016 P/N 997-044-904-51. My dealer told me that the update CD for 2.1a to 2.1b is not part of it. Is that true?
  3. I have heard that the firmware update from PCM2.1a to 2.1b people had issue if the PCM is equipped with the Bose system. Has anyone successfully updated the firmware by following the instruction of the TSB for their vehicle with Bose? Thanks.
  4. Loren, Have the TSP ever posted for the upgrade instructions for bring the 2005 PCM 2.1A to 2.1B? I am looking into update my 12 years old DVD to the new map. Thanks. George
  5. 2005 Cayenne S with black interior. The lighter socket no longer pops up when the ashtray draw opens. Seems like something is broken underneath the lighter socket. Do I need the whole tray with light socket assembly? or a smaller part to fix it . Thank you for any help. George
  6. 2005 Cayenne S, 11 years of ownership, not 100% problem free. I LOVE my Cayenne. If I plan to switch another all purpose vehicle, it will be another Cayenne.
  7. I have some issues with my setup of the Tekonsha P3 controller without the relay but not sure the problem is the controller or not. I am not sure the updated P3 still need the relay even the company said it is no longer necessary. I want to try to add the relay to the harness and see if it is the cause of the issue. For those who had successful installed, could someone tell me where you get the source of the 12V & Ground? Can you use the 12V and Ground from the factory 4 pins and feed them to the relay? Thanks.
  8. My trailer finally arrived. I hooked up my trailer and everything seems to be fine. No error or whatever showed up. When I took the trailer for a test run and tried to adjusted the brake controller then I have some trouble. By activate the manual override, I can't see to able to put the wheels to lock even set it at the highest power setting. I did feel the brake worked and the trailer was slow down the vehicle, but the wheels didn't lock as a procedure to setup the power level. The display at the controller was fine and no erratic display. I may need to try the original method for this post by adding a relay and see what happens. From the diagram of the technical bulletin, can someone tell me where can I get the source of the 12V that goes the relay? Can I simply use the power source from the factory brake controller harness (red/yellow)?
  9. After I did all the researches and finally ordered the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller. This information is from etrailer.com: confirmed with my contacts at Tekonsha, and Prodigy P2 # 90885 and P3 # 90195 have been re-engineered the to not require a relay for installing in a 2012 Volkswagen Touareg. The minimum voltage needed for the display on the brake controller has been increased, therefore the relay is not needed. I connected the wire harness with the VW wires & adapter, straight with no relay, the controller seems to be working fine. I don't have a trailer hookup to it yet, but I will post an update if there is any issue when that happens. In additional, I found out the P3 doesn't go into sleep mode if a LED Trailer Light Adapter is being used for a trailer with LED tail lights. Unplug the adapter the P3 goes into sleep mode in 15 minutes.
  10. 19mpg long trip <75mph 10 to 11mpg normal driving but mostly city & short distance
  11. I found the same piece off my 2005 CS as well. Could someone post a picture of where this piece is belong?
  12. did you manage to solve this problem? Let me know, I have the same issue! No, after researched and was told MP3 is not supported for 2005's PCM, even upgraded to Level B. So I just hold off and still using my original map disc from 2004.
  13. My 2005 Cayenne VIN isn't on the list of TSB but I had the same problem few years ago. After remove the connector and soldered the wire under the driver seat, the Check Air Bag light never came back. I used the Durametric to read and cleared the code.
  14. Back in 12/2012, the error code for "Impedance ig circ. belt tight (rear centre)" which I posted when the 2nd time Airbag light came one I think is normal. That was over a year ago and I did contacted Durametic support but no response. The error that brought up the Airbag Fault twice were 1217. The first time, I only re-crimped the connector, clear the code, and was fine for a year. After a year, the code reappeared again, this time I cut the connectors and soldiered them and packed with heat-shrink tube. I cleared the code and just ignored the code for "Impedance ig circ. belt tight (rear centre)". Since then, I have never had any problem. George
  15. My 2005 Cayenne S is PCM2.1 Level A and needs to upgrade to Level B. The 2006 PCM2.1 is Level B and supports MP3 audio that my 2005 Level A doesn't. Does anyone know is MP3 supported if upgrade a 2005 PCM2.1 Level A to B? and is there any different of the PCM operation & features after updated the firmware of the PCM2.1 from A to B?
