Both of covers of where I hang the luggage net are broken in the back of the D pillar. Can someone direct me for a replacement. I searched and see there may be an update version (without the cover) in the newer models. Mine is a 2005 Cayenne S with Grey interior color. See attached pictures. Thank you for any help. George
8 years from the original fix (crimped) and later (soldiered) the wire, the error never come back. So I would confirm that it is a permanent fix.
The Update DVD Kit arrived today. Followed the TSB instruction and everything went smoothly well. After that, the exclamation mark of the Amplifier is gone. Tested everything and found no other issue. Thank you for everyone that helped me on this. My map has been updated from 2004 to 2015.
Hi Richard, I checked the version of the Amplifier software of and found an exclamation mark next to the Amplifier (see images). Should I have proceed the normal update or you mention there is an method to modify the update CD to bypass the Amp? The version number is way lower than your suggested 0017500, but this is a Cayenne, not a 997. Thanks.
I took the assembly apart and found there is a pivot knob on the right side of the tray was broken off. Luckily I found the piece and used some strong glue to hold them back together. I searched and found this a common problem and Porsche doesn't sell the part, only the whole assembly for few hundred dollars .
Thanks. Found a place who selling it with the update cd.
Thank you for you guys' clarification before placing the order. BTW, how am I able to check what version is my Bose Amp? Last question, I was told the update CD P/N 000.043.205.47.002 is part of the PCM update kit. Now the current release is 2015/2016 P/N 997-044-904-51. My dealer told me that the update CD for 2.1a to 2.1b is not part of it. Is that true?
I have heard that the firmware update from PCM2.1a to 2.1b people had issue if the PCM is equipped with the Bose system. Has anyone successfully updated the firmware by following the instruction of the TSB for their vehicle with Bose? Thanks.
2005 Cayenne S with black interior. The lighter socket no longer pops up when the ashtray draw opens. Seems like something is broken underneath the lighter socket. Do I need the whole tray with light socket assembly? or a smaller part to fix it . Thank you for any help. George
2005 Cayenne S, 11 years of ownership, not 100% problem free. I LOVE my Cayenne. If I plan to switch another all purpose vehicle, it will be another Cayenne.
I have some issues with my setup of the Tekonsha P3 controller without the relay but not sure the problem is the controller or not. I am not sure the updated P3 still need the relay even the company said it is no longer necessary. I want to try to add the relay to the harness and see if it is the cause of the issue. For those who had successful installed, could someone tell me where you get the source of the 12V & Ground? Can you use the 12V and Ground from the factory 4 pins and feed them to the relay? Thanks.
My trailer finally arrived. I hooked up my trailer and everything seems to be fine. No error or whatever showed up. When I took the trailer for a test run and tried to adjusted the brake controller then I have some trouble. By activate the manual override, I can't see to able to put the wheels to lock even set it at the highest power setting. I did feel the brake worked and the trailer was slow down the vehicle, but the wheels didn't lock as a procedure to setup the power level. The display at the controller was fine and no erratic display. I may need to try the original method for this post by adding a relay and see what happens. From the diagram of the technical bulletin, can someone tell me where can I get the source of the 12V that goes the relay? Can I simply use the power source from the factory brake controller harness (red/yellow)?
After I did all the researches and finally ordered the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller. This information is from etrailer.com: confirmed with my contacts at Tekonsha, and Prodigy P2 # 90885 and P3 # 90195 have been re-engineered the to not require a relay for installing in a 2012 Volkswagen Touareg. The minimum voltage needed for the display on the brake controller has been increased, therefore the relay is not needed. I connected the wire harness with the VW wires & adapter, straight with no relay, the controller seems to be working fine. I don't have a trailer hookup to it yet, but I will post an update if there is any issue when that happens. In additional, I found out the P3 doesn't go into sleep mode if a LED Trailer Light Adapter is being used for a trailer with LED tail lights. Unplug the adapter the P3 goes into sleep mode in 15 minutes.
