2002 996 Welcome everyone to another installment highlighting the wonderful world of fragile Porsche parts! Have both 17" and 18" wheels and have recently lost the metal Center Cap logo medallion off of one wheel of each size. While removing the other center caps every remaining medallion fell right off in my hand. Metal medallion secured with a random dab of some type of adhesive. We have reached the end of lifespan of whatever adhesive the Center Cap supplier used to keep precious colored metal medallions stuck to those cheap plastic caps. Anyone know how to remove old adhesive? Anyone have any idea what adhesive to replace it with? Anyone know how much the Porsche/Piech families made selling replacement center caps last year? Remember when paying through the nose for your precious replacement Center Caps that the Porsche and Piech families are the 7th wealthiest oligarchs in the world per Wikipedia.

See broken part in this Front Left wheel well pic of my 04 996... assume it is a suspension stroke sensor, but what does it do, and more importantly, what is the consequence of driving it un-repaired? I wonder how the ECU uses the input if there is no electronic suspension on my car... hmmm. The part it mounts to is plastic so it must have struck road debris I am guessing... if anyone knows the Part number so I can order a replacement many thanks in advance! Thx!

The "chrome" on my 2001 C4 wheels started flaking off and got much worse with each wash. I tried some cheap do-it-yourself fixes and messed them up even more so finally went to Turbax in Miami to have them painted. Not a major fan of the blacked out look but it was the best option for easy touch-ups. Service was fantastic. Attention to detail and constant updates. They smoothed all the rashes and solved a slight bent issue. To overcome the blackout look, I followed the DIY to paint the wheel centers. Next up will be the calipers! Michael (first post so I probably screwed up the picture attachment!)
