Are any of these the reverse wire sensor?

Recommended Posts

Loren, or anyone else, are any of these wires the reverse wire sensor? They are the only blue/black wires I can locate anywhere under any seat - I have a RHD car.

The photo is taken from behind the passenger seat (which would be the drivers seat in a LHD car!)

Please help!

Loren,

Just to clarify what you just said - do you think that either of these wires in the phot may be the reverse wire? Do you know what component it is that they are plugged in to in the photo? Are you saying, then, that I will probably find them behind the passenger seat in my car? The wires look more blue with black stripe (they are a light blue, almost grey colour)

On a LHD car there is a control unit under the drivers seat, for the alarm and other things. We remove the seat to get to the reverse wire. Like loren says it is black with a blue stripe. The TSB says there are several, but I do not remember what I saw since there were many wires. Plus after we poked around with the wires we found a black/blue wire that went nowhere and had a plastic cap on the end so that is what we used. We detached the control unit from the floor pan so we could look at all the wires.

  • 2 years later...

i'm sorry to beat a dead horse, but i was looking for my reverse wire, and didn't want to start a new thread. i would just like to say that, on my '03 TT, the reverse wire had been doubled back and taped-up/over so much that it couldn't be seen. i had to cut away friction tape, where i saw a green wire doubled-back, and there it was (or, they were)...black and blue wires terminated into a rubber piece.

so, while everyone did a great job of pointing out where the reverse wire is, there are some nuances that lead to confusion. i hope that this helps someone else.
