  1. The Sears Diehard is available in an 850 CCA.
  2. Thanks, this looks good! A couple of questions... Do you have any photos? This is the rollbar not the rollcage right? Rollbar Rollcage
  3. Going back to stock would be the most elegant solution. You might even find someone that wants to trade for the PSE (plus cash I assume). Just make sure you get stock mufflers for an 02 or later so that your exhaust tips will line up right.
  4. I'll be there as long as it does not rain hard. ;)

  6. Yes, your private registered address. I can not send attachments to personal (board) messages.
  7. I sent you a private email with the slider trim removal instructions.
  8. I can not say that for sure. But you need a body shop to paint them anyway so they can likely make them fit. The numbers I gave you are the individual side skirts. You will see the full listing in the instructions I sent you. No. Again, you'll see (in the instructions) that the adhesive is separate from the aerokit parts.
  9. The older Aerokit Cup style side skirts are held on with epoxy using adhesive kit 000 044 000 37. The newer style Aerokit Cup II use only double-sided tape as they clip over the existing skirts. Here is the parts list from the Aerokit Cup (older one) for just the side skirts. Side Member Panel Part Number Qty. Description 996 559 983 00 G2X 1 Left-hand side member panel, primed 996 559 984 00 G2X 1 Right-hand side member panel, primed n/a 2 Retaining strip n/a 6 Templates 1, 2 and 3; left and right (3 ea. per side) n/a 22 Countersunk sheetmetal screw, 4.8 x 13 n/a 16 U-clip n/a 1 Left-hand adhesive film n/a 1 Right-hand adhesive film n/a 2 Sheetmetal nut; St 4.8 Part numbers are not given as they are part of the larger (complete) kit. If you need the install instructions for both kits let me know and I will email them to you.
  10. Craig is talking about a TSB for MY99 (and older) cars where they updated the upper strut mount (with bearing) and backup ring with a newer design. You should already have that newer design... but it still could have a problem.
  11. Changing the oil in a 996 is a 15 minute job (except for the drain and drip time). Porsche does not recommend a 30W oil for their cars. With that said you are likely okay until your next oil change as long as the temps don't get into the 90's. For your climate you could go with any of the 5W-50 without a problem - but any of the oils on the list should be okay. Before this service bulletin came out Porsche recommended only Mobil 1 15W-50 for our cars. That is what is in my car right now.
  12. Could be a loose support mount or ball-bearing housing or the spacer not fully seated. Your car is pretty new to be having this sort of problem so I would consider taking it back to whomever installed the RoW M030 and asking them to check their work.
  13. According to My-Porsche.com these are no longer available. You can down a free copy of the MY03 manual (which will be pretty close) from Suncoast Porsche at Suncoast Manuals
  14. The PSE vacuum operated valves are normally open. That is, they are loud by default. The vacuum operated valves are actuated by either the switch or the Speedometer A signal (which triggers them at 30-40 MPH) switching a solenoid. The electronic solenoid in the engine compartment switches and applies the vacuum or vents. The lines that run to the very hot exhaust area are stainless steel braided lines so heat should not hurt them. I personally chose to not install the vacuum lines and electronics and leave the exhaust open all the time. (That will save you about 8 hours of labor!). And, I don't think it is too loud open all the time :D :D :D
  15. Here is my advice. If your car has had a RMS replaced before then you could still be in line for a new engine (at no cost). It all comes down to the seal test and the cars history. This is a known problem and Porsche has replaced many main seals on out-of warranty cars. Talk to your dealer - get any history or records you have to back up your case... and if the dealer turns you down ask to talk to a regional PCNA rep.
  16. Be sure to use some protective material on the mirror base. Set the pliers with the protecting parts to the windshield to the diameter of the mirror base and secure to the mirror base. Turn the rearview mirror through 90 degrees at the mirror base using the pliers. Then, unclip the base of the interior rearview mirror from the retainer plate on the windshield. When you reinstall the mirror be careful not to go beyond the 90 degrees locking point. If you remove the mirror base from the windshield you will need a special cleaning/glue kit from Porsche to reinstall it.
  17. Group size is 48. Try to get at least a 700 CCA or better yet 850 CCA.
  18. If it is a trickle charger you are likely ok. Just remember that charging causes the battery to give off gases so it would be best to open the trunk. Also, charge very slowly to avoid bubbling the acid out the vents. If you need to do a rapid change then it is safest to remove the battery before charging.
  19. The most common case of (non-engine) noise in the rear of the car is the rear swaybar. Sometimes they can come loose and squeak or even thump. Since this is a new car have your dealer investigate it further. (I am assuming that you hae not made any suspension mods).
  20. From what I know and heard from others that is true. All the plastic windows are installed at the dealership as they are fitted -- mainly due to stretching of the tops. It usually takes a couple of days as they put the top on first and let it stretch then the dealer uses a special heating tool that forms the seal around the top. Jeff (aka ToolPants) has actually seen them do this. I would say that if you do not have a clean, fault free seal on your new window they should replace the top and window until they get it right. If that dealer can not do it right they should offer to fix the car at a dealership that can. (IMHO of course)
  21. 996 613 147 00 A02 is the sun roof switch and it has three functions. One switch opens and closes the sun roof tilt. The other switch functions rock back and forth to open the sun roof (all the way) or close the sun roof. It is physically larger than any of the front console (dash) panel switches. So, it would not fit in the batwing. 996 613 157 10 A05 is the Targa Roof switch which normally resides in the batwing. So, it would fit. It is a rocker that opens the Targa roof in one direction and closes in the other. So, you could just wire one side of the switch. Now for the bad news. The Targa Roof switch only comes in the A05 black matt finish whereas all the other switches in your car (and all MY 99-01 cars) are glossy black finish.
  22. The last TSBs I have for Cayenne are dated Sept 19, 2003. So there are likely some on the way. There was a revision in March that was temporary fix so this final fix was expected. These fixes actually come as PST2 software updates -- so only a dealer (or shop that has a subscription) can install these. The PST2 holds all the master programs for DME, Instrument Cluster, PCM, etc.
  23. Don is correct the PSE has valves to open close the bypass ports. See below.
  24. I can but it does not include instructions for removing the console. The B&M short shifter instructions are really quite good for this (B&M Instructions here).
