  1. Hi, I repurchased a '97 Base that I sold a few years ago. No manual came back with it, though. A CDR-221 Ser#5007697 Model BE2282? The code was in the manual Thank you! Jack5j
  2. Thank you so much! I had no idea this will be the norm through Monday?? Enjoy it!
  3. I cut the boot off, but the black/orange connector that plugs into the coil.
  4. Hi all, I have a 2000 Millenium Edition C4 with a cly6 misfire code. After pulling the wheel, I removed the coil and the connector to the wiring connector just released on its own. Both the coil and wire connector appear burn. The coil is easy enough to get, but any idea how best to replace the black/orange wiring connector inside the rubber boot? Thank you for any help! Jack5j
  5. Happens all too often. It'll be a Hilton or Marriott eventually.
  6. Oh. I am sorry to hear that. I have been on this side of the Bay too long. I used to be in SOMD during the first 38 years of my life. I need to visit again.
  7. Sounds like a road trip! I can't wait for warmer weather as I have 2 Boxsters...one may go for the 911, though. I certainly will make a day trip there. Kids are older, but sounds like something they may like, especially if I throw the Tiki Bar in. Last I was there was '83?
  8. That is great! Also, CRAZY! I was just minutes from Solomons...looking at this car! I'm hoping another trip and I'll be driving it home. I never knew they had them at the Museum. Born and raised in MD, but need to go there! Love the pic! I'll buy lunch one trip down, you have helped on MANY threads. Not far at all.
  9. Sounds like heaven, and heading to another! I'm not far south, just over the bridge from Annapolis. Yell if you are ever this way, I'll buy you a crab cake!!
  10. Congratulations! It's apparently in your blood! What area? Parents were from Hazelton.
  11. YOU ARE FREAKING INCREDIBLE! THANK YOU!! I feel the purchase has to happen. 4 times in the past week I have looked at the clock, no kidding at all, it was 9:11.
  12. Yes, I'm sorry. I was referring to Oil Pressure. I am looking at a car for possible purchase. Last week it was at a steady 2, but at 1.25 today at idle. Like you said, I'm not sure of what is in there either.
  13. Thank you JFP in PA! Where is your shop? (I am in MD) Is 1.25 bars okay at idle temp in your opinion?
  14. Thank you, DBJoe996. That was kind of what I was thinking. I had heard 2000 was a transition year, but thank you for the thought it's probably original. I heard that Porsche replacements included an "AT" in the model number, which this lacks. I agree, I'll offer with the reduction of the solutions being performed. Wish me luck! ? Thanks!
  15. Hello, I am looking at a 2000 996 that supposedly had an engine replacement (date/mileage can't be verified, or that it happened). Based on the model number of M96/0466Yxxxxxx, I guess it probably was? Any way to tell if this would be a single row vs the possible double row it came with? Considering but concerned as the car has been sitting for quite a while since (possible) engine replacement. Thank you for any input.
  16. Thank you! It has been at my indy's getting a few things done and timing has been reset. Apparently, all codes are gone now, except a IACV found broken during a smoke test. Of course, I get the IMS fears running through my head.
  17. Mine is in for a few things and the mechanic said he will try to clean/lube it. Not a big deal.
  18. That is mine, to a tee. Can it be cleaned, or does it need replacing?
  19. All plugs changed and broken wire found/fixed for the engine purge fan. When I activate each bank's cam solenoid with Durametric I get a noticeable drop in RPMs, would that indicate they are working? I just changed the #4 coil pack, but as soon as it hits roughly 180 degrees, the CEL comes on with a P0304. Seems to start missing/running a little rough then. That is the only code logging but these are pending: P1324 P1340 P1319 P1316 I feel like I'm getting close, but any ideas greatly appreciated. I'll check that #4 plug to be sure.
  20. Pardon my newbieness to this, but would that be both actuators possibly failed? Solenoids?
  21. Hello, I have searched, but didn't find much. I have spent MANY interesting hours here, though! A great group. I have a '99 986 with 108k miles and quite a few codes. I have been slowly whittling away at some, but these remain. I just received a Durametric this afternoon, and the Actual Values shows the cam reading at 25*crk for BOTH banks 1 and 2. These readings don't change. Am I doing something wrong? I have installed a new Cam Position Sensor on Bank 2, and have one to install on Bank 1 if it is even needed. The engine runs just a little rough, but not that bad. If codes are cleared, they reappear about 3 mins after running. Any ideas/direction is GREATLY appreciated. Thank you. P1671 Final stage engine compartment purge fan Short to B+ P1340 Camshaft position with respect to crankshaft bank 1 exceeds limit value P1324 Camshaft position with respect to crankshaft bank 2 exceeds limit value P1319 Misfire emissions-relevant P1316 Cylinder 4 misfire emissions-relevant P1531 Camshaft adjustment bank 1 P1539 Camshaft adjustment bank 2 P0300 Misfire damaging to cat. converter P0304 Cylinder 4 misfire damaging to cat. converter P0306 Cylinder 6 misfire damaging to cat. converter P1571 Immobilizer: Open circuit or no signal
  22. I have a noise that is like that. Mine is the heat shield under the top engine cover. I had a push nut missing and replaced it, but still need to fiddle with it. It sounds like a growling/grinding rattle between 5 to 15mph. 1997 2.5L
