Thanks to Mr. Flips post with part #s. I was able to fix mine. Real easy, just be sure to "seat" the 30 torx bit into bolts, the are somewhat hard to reach and seem soft metal. Approximately 2 cups of coolant came out that I captured with a bowl then returned it after the job was done. (DO NOT remove coolant cap during process; coolant is under pressure and more will come out). Before and after pics.
Had to put this on back burner due to work, but I'm attacking it today. I can't seem to get the intake and injectors lined up. I have the injectors loosely installed and I'm trying to position the intake between it and the block. Any pointers? How did everyone do this? Thx
I'll keep this thread alive I guess. I got it off now. But I'm having problems getting the membrane housing off of the valve cover.. side note: wow, there's a lot of sludge on my valves !!!!
Well. I have the manifold loose. I can't seem to get the fuel pressure sensor plug off the sensor. That may be what is keeping it from coming loose. Any ideas how to take it off? I'll try to post pics .. almost got this off..
Well, I joined the party... I've tried to replace the membrane as well without success. I couldn't get to the last triple square, and maybe somewhat stripped the middle one. I may attempt it again with moving the coolant hoses.. If not, I'll be taking it to the dealership for the valve cover install. I have no codes, but the whistling seems to be getting worse. I like the 957, but this job is a pain for sure, gone are the days of Autozone 10.00 PCV valve pulled from the top of valve cover, 2 min install..
