  1. Thanks Loren. Why would I get both sides at the same time? Seems strange I have both o2 sensors, or exhausts failing at same time.
  2. My V6 was in shop last week with CEL on. Showed 2 codes: P0431 and P0421. The light went out on way to dealer. Dealer said it was strange that both codes were thrown. Reset computer. Had to go to dealer again today. Same 2 codes were thrown again, triggering CEL. As these are Catalytic converter / O2 sensor related, it seems bizarre that both codes would be thrown since they are the same code but from different banks. Dealer has sent request to Porsche HQ to find out what's happening. Any idea what this means?
  3. Anyone have a writeup on removing the CDR23 on an 08 Cayenne? I want to get behind it to install the mObridge IPOD adapter. There was an old writeup on another board, but the pics are now gone, so the text is useless. Thanks
  4. I need the EXACT same thing for my mechanic next week. Consider this a friendly bump.
  5. The TSB for PSE install notes differences between 2005 and 2006 cars, but doesn't mention 2007. Are the 2006 cars the same as 2007 (which I have)? i.e., should I follow directions for 2006 cars?
  6. Thanks. I finally realized that's the way to do it. You need to apply power to the solenoid all the time to force the valve closed, despite what the computer is saying. Can you provide a few more details? Where did you put the switch? Where did you tap into a 12V source? Do you have any pics? I also see you are somewhere in NJ. Perhaps I could see it in person, if you were ok with that.
  7. Let me see if I understand what you said. When the vacuum valves are powered, they keep the exhaust in quiet mode, right? Or do I have that backwards? Either way, I need an inline switch which overrides the sport button setting. Please clarify. Thanks
  8. I'm going to be getting the PSE installed on my car. I have the Sport Chrono option. What I want is to connect the PSE wiring to the sport button AND install a second switch that will turn off the PSE even when the sport button is pushed. Specifically: Sport button off - NO PSE Sport button on - 2nd switch on - PSE enabled Sport button on - 2nd switch off - NO PSE It seems like people are doing the opposite...turning on PSE when sport button is off. This is NOT what I want. Not having seen the installation instructions, it would appear that there must be a wire running from Sport button to back of car. In essence, can I splice into that wire (which I assumed is hot when sport button is on) and therefore cut the voltage so that PSE doesn't come on, even if Sport button is on? Thanks
  9. Well, I re-arranged the antenna, putting it in a slightly different spot, and used velcro to secure it to the top of the cowl so that it remains perfectly horizontal. The reception is much, much better. Barely dropped out at all on a dense, tree lined street. Sounds better than expected. I tried to secure it with a screw to the cowl, but for the life of me, I could not figure out how to get the cowl off. I followed the instructions I found elsewhere, but when it came to disconnect the washer lines / power, I couldnt' figure out how to get them disconnected (or where to perform the disconnection). On top of that, I'm not sure I knew how to pull the cowl out from under the hood. Any ideas on these last 2 steps?
  10. Well, I did my install last night, following the directions as listed above. I can confirm all is working. Took me about 2 1/2 hours. A good chunk of that time spent unbundling the wires that come taped up in the kit. I never did find the "available rubber grommet" that's mentioned, so I routed the wires up and the back down into the storage compartment. Looks like I need to drill a small hole, so I'll go back and do that later. I think I'm also going to mount the antenna according to the other directions, by removing the cowl and screwing it in properly. I'm not getting the best reception, so I think it must not be in there straight. If I can do all the other steps, I'm sure I can remove the cowl and mount properly.
  11. I've read every post I could find and my concensus is that you need to order the kit WITH cd changer, even if you don't have one, because you need the Y connector. I ordered mine like that. Should get it next week.
  12. Not sure how accurate this is, but probably close. Note this is for 2006. Edmunds didn't publish info on the 2007 models other than Turbo and GT3. http://www.edmunds.com/new/2006/porsche/91...p;x=88&y=20
  13. Great writeup. I'm going to study these very closely as I have the exact configuration. '07 C2S / Bose / No Nav / No CD changer.
  14. Incidentally, where can I order the Sirius kit from? I see Suncoast has it for just over $1000. Is that the typical price? I found a website that claims to sell it for $699, but I'm a bit leary (autopartsnationwide.com). Any experience with them? I'm thinking this might be my Xmas gift to myself. As if the car wasn't already a Xmas gift to myself. (Actually it was a Thanksgiving gift.)
  15. To answer my own question, I found out that fuse 1, row 3 is switched on my car. Trial and error with the open slots figured it out.
  16. I'm looking to connect my V1 radar detector to the fuse box, and want to know if any of the unused spots are switched so that power is cut when key is removed. Thx
  17. Thanks. One other thing? Do I need to have NAV or CD changer in order to put in satellite? I don't have NAV in my S.
  18. Is this a "do it yourself job"? I did the Sirius upgrade on my M5 even though it wasn't supported. However, it really only took about 90 mins.
