  1. I replaced the oil pan with the X51 version. It has the baffles on it already. It fits in with no issue at all. The AOS problem still exists. You have to do more than just the baffles. -Michael Thanks for the info - I guess there is no cheap alternative! :renntech:

  3. Looking for anyone who has installed baffels in a 3.4 oil pan. Has it helped with oil collecting in the cam cover and getting into the combustion chamber through the AOS system? :renntech:
  4. OK. Finally problem solved: 1) I had 3 bad O2 sensors, and I know why. Well actually I got 3 after market O2 sensors "$18 each- I was curious". I cut the old sensors connectors and reconnected the wires from new sensors to old connectors. Now I am not sure if the sensors are not good for boxster’s application, or if I made a mistake and miss-wired. As a solution I got 3 new O2 sensors and that resolved the issue. "I shall get the after market O2 sensors try and re-wire them see if I can make them work". Car did not run rich any more, no smelly exhaust or black smoke. 2) The second part of the problems was caused by a leak in the cold Air intake hose connecting air throttle body to air intake cone. All the after market hoses I purchased "as much as $375" did not work and kept leaking air. I think they did not work because they were designed to fit a car with e-gas air throttle “which points opposite direction from none e-gas. At the end I got 3" aluminum pipe + 2 x 90 degree silicone hoses + 2 straight silicone hoses and D-clamps. Customizing cold air intake hose is the way to go. Looks nice, fits perfect. No more Air leaks and no more CE warning!! "p.s i shall add pics later in my '2.5tip to 3.4 conversion' post" A serious thank you to Loren and Todd, you guys rock Thanks again Ali :renntech: Do you mind posting the info on the generic o2 sensors that you used? Where did you buy them? Did you do any special type of connection from the old wires - new? I shall post the info soon, I will try and correct my wiring and use all 4 generic sensors this time "last time I used 3 generic and one factory original". I got the O2 sensors off of ebay for about $25 each I think "on ebay under boxster parts". I shall rewire, reinstall and see if that resolves the problem. Goldnogard What kind of fuel mileage were you getting when it was running without all the CEL's problems Catman
  5. Sounds like the microswitch inside the door handle has failed. Too many plastic parts
  6. I finished a 3.4 swap on a 2000 standard. Its pretty straight forward except for the engine has to be lowered. The intake on the 3.4 isw higher than on the 2.7 I replaced so I needed 1 3/8 spacers on the front engine mount and 3/4 inch lower transmission mount. I achieved this by cutting the mount and rewelding adding a addition metal plate for support. Thye wiring harness I used was from the Boxster. Hope this helps but Todd Holyoak is the expert read some of his info on this site... Catmanluge
  7. Looks like you made a big jump! WOW! Have Fun!
  8. Has anyone tried this outfits ECU flash on a 3.4?
  9. No Porsche never offer a limited slip. They depend on traction control using the braking system. The Boxster has a Getrag 5 Speed which is different than other Porsche Models I am not aware of any other Limited Slip working in a Boxster.
  10. This is a 2.7 Boxster motor 24 inches High, 34" wide and 21.5" long add 1.75 for a 3.4 996. Hope this helps
  11. I ordered a unit from Quaife in January with a promissed delivery of Febuary 13. I am still waiting for the unit to be shipped. Plus they accepted my order in January and then raised the price in March $480.00 with a promised 2 week delivery. Still have not received any shipment. They are a ???? poor company to deal with!
  12. I went stop a machine shop and had a tool made out of aluminium for $12.00. It places the seal 13MM from the crank end.. :renntech:
  13. you'll probably have a different host of problems. where did you get your cats, BTW? thinking more about my issue with the O2 sensor heating, i'm guessing that the ECU just monitors voltage on the heating element circuits and calculates impedance that correlates to the correct heating wattage. since the old sensors didn't throw these codes, i can only assume that bosch has either changed the heating element design OR their quality control sucks. either way, adding resistors in series to increase impedance or in parallel to decrease it should solve the problem. They are HiFlow stainless steel made by Megaflow.
  14. wow; what pieces of crap. you figure when you use the more expensive german part, it should work better than the generic cheap part. apparently not. i guess i'll just have to figure out what resistor i need to run in parallel with the sensor to clear the code. once i figure this out, i'll post back here. Hey Insite, Try removing them and reconnecting them 180 degrees. It might just be that the pin connections are backwards. Hope it works! is that even possible? Insite I'll probably go through the same as I changed the location of my O2 sensors they are now 2.5 feet apart with the new headers and Hi Flow Cats.
  15. I have a 2000 2.7 for sale It was running when I replaced it with a 3.4 ltr motor
  16. Has anyone on this board installed a Quaife ATB Differential in a 2000 or later Boxster 5 speed transmission? I understand from Quaife that an early side cover should be used, does anyone know why? Which model shims were used late model (DVY or EFD) Trans or early model Trans (CWA)? Illustration in Porsche Manual shows Snap Ring on Flanged Shaft how can these be accessed? Any suggestions of comments on installation! :renntech:
  17. They will work as far as fitting not sure what brand thay are. EBC brand pads use that same configuration with the weights.
  18. The Motor Mount is Boxster and the oil cooler looks like a 3.2. It looks like a 3.2 Boxster too me.
  19. Kevin I made my own out of a alum plate with a hack saw. Cost Less than 2.00...
  20. I would think a six spped tranny would be the way to go with that swap! That way you are covered!
