  1. opps...looks like I need to update my signature! LOL This is for my 2004 Cayenne Turbo, the Carrera is gone. Will be checking my diverter valves today and look at the boost hoses...
  2. Okay, I searched on this DTC but found nothing. I recently installed some EVOMS diverter valves and ran into some issues. The DME shows DTC P2281 although the diverters seem connected okay. I did notice putting them in that there was a fair amount of oil in the drivers side boost hoses. There was also oil residue all around the area behind the drivers side intercooler above the lower boost hose. The drivers side Bosch diverter did have the vacuum line disconnected when I went to replace the diverter valves so not sure if that caused the oil spray. What is the best way to check for a boost leak under that DTC? I attached an picture of the area where the oil residue was mostly located... passenger side was dry.
  3. Interesting problem popped up on my 2004 Cayenne Turbo... seem to be getting the P1314 code under Tiptronic and PSM modules recently. Under acceleration I see my PSM warning go on and when I check the codes afterwards I get the two listed. On the first incident I also had a 907 under Electronics but after clearing it I have not seen it come back. The other two however do come back. There is also a P2281 under DME but that is probably an issue with the new diverter valves I just installed. The battery is only about a year old... I searched on this one and could not come up with much. Any ideas on what to look for? The vavle body and transmission control module were replaced by the dealer just last year as well.. FYI
  4. Yep, had the exact same symptom on my 2004 CTT.... was a bad transmission valve body. The dealer also replaced the control unit for the transmission since there was an updated version. Runs about $2000 installed. David
  5. Figures, it was just at the dealer Friday for a hitch install... LOL Well, next time I go in I will have them check. Thanks
  6. I believe everyone is being way too nice about his.... the reality is that a CTT is great, but with the right mods included ECU tune, intake, and exhaust it puts it in the unreal category!!!!! :) You think it is nice stock, try it with 75+ more HP! The normally aspirated Cayennes just do not get this type of power with mods, not even close.
  7. Okay, my daughter just pointed this out to me with the warmer weather now happening... I didn't notice it since it was on the passengers side! ;) It appears that the center dash vent on the passenger side is not emitting much air. The other dash vents including the center one for the drivers side are fine. Any ideas on what to look for? The rest of the HVAC seems to be working fine and the level for opening and closing the vents on the center dash have also been checked and work fine. Even with it fully open there is very little airflow from the passenger side center vent. :( David
  8. I just had this fixed on my 04 CTT... it was the valve body in the transmission. We also replaced the trans control unit as they said it would need to be matched to the new valve body. Already did the coil packs previously. Works great now! I would recommend Suncoast or Sunset for getting the parts online if a local mechanic can't source them. David
  9. Just had this done on my 04 CTT with 80k miles. Same symptoms, harsh 4-5 shift. Had the valve body and transmission control unit replaced for about $3400. Thankfully I bought a warranty with the car so it was mostly covered. :) David
  10. Same here... just picked up a 04 Cayenne Turbo back in December and it is averaging around 15MPG, but that is lightly loaded. Pulling a boat I bet it will get down to 5MPG. LOL David
  11. Thanks RFM! I am waiting to see if my extended warranty might cover this but I believe the air suspension is excluded. :( If so, I will be sure to get the VW repair kit instead. David
  12. Sorry Loren, have not updated my profile yet since I still need pics of my new ride... I now have a 2004 Cayenne Turbo. :) David A MY99 C2 does not have PSM. What did you read that code with?
  13. Loren, sorry to bring this topic back from the dead but I have the same 1772 fault code that is intermittent. Since my car is out of warranty I will probably have to do some repairs myself. Did you have a parts diagram that shows the sensor and module mentioned in your troubleshooting? Thanks David
  14. Yep, same here Durametric... not as good as the Vag-Com software for Audi/VW but works decent enough. David
  15. What's worse is there does not seem to be any aftermarket replacements. I tried my local Sears to get a International series battery and there was no option for the Cayenne. I ended up having to just get another OEM replacement from Porsche. :( David
  16. I can also add that this is not an expensive fix as I just did it on my 04 CTT. It runs about $120 for all 8 coils when ordering from our sponsors. The hardest part is just getting all the plastic covers off in the engine bay to remove the coils! I would also recommend if you are doing this yourself to change the plugs as well. Easy to do once the coils are out of the way. :) David
  17. Hey, what is this? Will it work with a 04 CTT and the PCM 2.0? Which part of the center console does it install into? :) David
  18. Swanny, thanks for the info. Looks like the Tequipment package is the way to go. I checked with my local dealer and they made me a great deal on a full kit. Did not know it came painted though, will have to verify that was part of the package they quoted. Thanks!
  19. Okay, i give... where are these two bolts located to remove the trim panel on the center console? I can't find them. :( David
  20. Good point.... the air suspension warning does not always come on at first start up and seems a little intermittent. Not sure how long the battery has been in there but might be worth changing for piece of mind. :)
  21. Okay, I searched but could not find a post on this.... some of the wood trim on my 04 CTT is looking a little worn. Is there a method for repolishing while still on the car? Also, does anyone know how to remove the wood trim panel on the center console where the shifter is? I think that piece is the most worn and it would be easier to polish out of the car. Thanks, David
  22. Good to know... thankfully the warranty I bought with it should cover this. I will be sure to bring this up with the dealer at the next service. Thanks David
  23. Okay, doing some further on road testing with my new toy (2004 CTT - 09/2003 build date) and it seems that the transmission has occassional harsh downshifts in D mode. I checked it today using the tiptronic feature and it seems fine with smooth shifts in manual mode. I also checked the tiptronic module and there are no DTC's showing. There seems to be a firmware update for the tiptronic module and also an electro-hydraulic valve issue. I checked the TSB's but none of them seem to match my symptoms exactly. Anyone heard of this issue before?
  24. How about this idea... would the front and rear GTS lower spoilers from a 2006 model fit my 2004 Turbo bumpers? If not, what about the complete bumpers? Seems like the GTS kit is pretty nice looking and much more affordable than the aftermarket kits out.
