  1. You need to remove the front shield on a turbo, one horn is located on the left front and one on the right. It's better to replace both horns, thy go's bad if you don't use them once a day.
  2. The engine bay environement temp. sensor is on the plenium ( to ventilate by the fan on the right side ). Do you have a picture?
  3. The cluster and the DME use the same temp.sensor, the cluster values looks OK what means that the sensor is not the cause. Make a bridge with a single wire from the sensor to the pin on the DME and read the values again, if they are approx. the same as the cluster there most by something wrong with the wiring ( corrosion on a pin or a junction ).I'm sorry i have no electric diagram to show. Loren can help you whit that. As wvicary wrote the intake air temp. sensor is part of the MAF, you did a replacement 7K miles ago, with a new one? the same part number? Take a spare MAF and try to use a PIWIS tester to read the values again to by sure, if thy are all still negative i'm afraid you will arrive to the DME.
  4. Hi I have some questions: the car showed 180 - Fahrenheit i guess the coolant temp was showing 38-41 C - what means Celsius Are you sure if the tester is compatible with the car ?
  5. Hi Remove the under plate ( one screw in the middle under the glove box lid ) and disconnect the connectors from the interior light and the adaptors. Pull off the edge on the dashboard on top of the lid. Remove all the screws on the front and bottom, inclusive the lock. Push the glove box a little to the bottom and remove the glove box light connector and the tube coming from the air conditioning. Pull out the glove box complete with the lock. Have fun, it's easy
  6. The problem in the Nord European country's are the taxes, for the same price you can buy a new Cayenne turbo + a new 987 in the US taxes inclusive, he only can buy a V6.
  7. Dont forget to look at the water pump!
  8. Hi The best for a streetcar is still a stock clutch assembly, check the double mass flywheel and put the stock clutch assembly in. Apply a little bit of grease to the top of the release fork ( where the slave cylinder is ) and on the bottom ( where the pivot point is ) satisfaction guaranteed and no more noises and chattering. Success.
  9. Hi Sounds like a amplifier problem, do you have warranty?
  10. Hi Try this to start with, it's easy to do. Remove the poly V belt from the engine and let the engine idle, if the noise disappears it means that one of the roller bearings or the alternator etc. are faulty. Check the power steering fluid level. Check the clutch release bearing, is there a difference in noise while pushing the clutch pedal ?
  11. Sounds like a bad fuel cap or a faulty valve in the canister - fuel tank purge system. -3.61 on both banks is to match.
  12. Turbo's don't have the RMS problem, most oil leaks in this area are from the TIP. especially the Mercedes TIP. The seal is available.
  13. 987 - 997 GPS and PHONE antennas are bold on a metal plate just above the interior filter on the right side in the battery area, the PCM diversity antennas are integrated in the windshield. If it can help all senders and receivers are out of the cabin.
  14. Replace all is the best you can do, they go's bad anyway. Cayenne have the same problem.
  15. Look in the rear trunk if the underside of the carpet on the right side is wet, if yes, a good chance that the coolant tank is cracked. If the leak is situated just behind the pass. seat, check the water pump.
  16. Hi It's very simple, the pump and sender are one unit. The pump is interchangeable. From the point where you are: disconnect the electric and the two fuel line connectors - turn loose ( to the left ) the big black ring and remove him - pull out carefully the pump-sender unit and replace the pump. Change the seal, install. in reverse order. Success.
  17. Try key 2 and compare the result, if it is still the same you need the PIWIS for testing the alarm and comfort control box.
  18. Hi The buttons are not available separately, they are part of the airbag, the TIP buttons and the multifunction buttons as well.
  19. Yes it is possible, you need the stalk, a single wire, a connector pin and the PIWIS to program the system. ( for LHD European cars )
  20. The bolt is located in the oil pan on the bottom of the transmission ( the black steel pan ). The difference with the most transmissions is the way of filling, from the BOTTOM to the TOP.
  21. A/C drier replacement 996 with circuit empty approx. 15 minutes, empty + vacuum + refill the system approx. 30 minutes in proportion the used machine. I have no idea concerning the price for 2 O-rings and the drier.
  22. Hi Car placed horizontally - engine running at idle - transmission in P - transmission oil temperature between 40° C and 45° C ( you need the PIWIS to check the transmission oil temperature ) - remove the big insert bolt in the oil pan and fill up til the oil overflow a little - replace the insert bolt.
  23. Two different brands of tyres can give you this problem to.
  24. Hi Firing order M 48/01 48/51 V8 = 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8
  25. I don't no what US types do but you need a PIWIS or similar tool to check the fault codes. Start to check the headlights, good chance that the second connector have a bat contact or even loose.
