  1. Hi guys in the owner's manual it states that disconnect the battery before any electrical work is carried out. However as soon as I disconnect the negative side the alarm goes off. I cannot find the information on how to disable the alarm in the 996 owner's book. anyone shed any lights? :) TIA
  2. yeah the seals are always in good condition but I guess verts often have more sqeaks than coupes
  3. Alex you are not the only one - even down here in London it's getting cold and weather forcast says there will be 6 inch of snow tomorrow! my cab also develops creaks/squeaks when cold weather arrives. Have tried gummy pfledge but it only works for a short period and you have to keep applying them around the trims. I also got some 'drops' that a dealer gave me free of charge they said they'd drop few into the gap between glass and door trim and move the windows up and down to stop the squeaks but I am relucant to try as it sounds like it'll mess up the window glass big time LOL The problem g4ts worse with the hardtop on. Grrr.....
  4. what I was told the front bumpers are the same size that share similar fixings/carriers across the range just need to modify some bits and pcs. C4S and TT have wider rear panels and share the same drive train and gears etc.
  5. update: just tried to take the side mirrors off, took me about 3 minutes to do. no need to remove door panels. just pry off the plastic caps as seen in pics aboe and you have access to the 3 screws holding the baseplate (one is hidden behind the rubber weather trim just lift it up and you'll see it). undo all 3 screws the the mirror comes off with ease.
  6. so there is no need to remove the interior door panel to change the side mirrors? did you find out what that screw is for? :)
  7. just what I was looking for! with pics too, thank you very much :notworthy:
  8. hiya I was told by a local porsche independent specialist: You can fit a 996 Turbo front bumper to a 996 C2/C4 year 2003 - 2005 (or the facelift model). You will have to modify the front air ducts and a few other bits and pieces. You can fit it to an earlier 996 but it gets more complicated with change of wings, lights, etc.
