  1. I would think you'd just have to get under the car and they'd be attached with a screw or two. Jacking it up would depend on your "girth"
  2. I guess I'm the minority here. I picked up my '02 C2 last Spring, which came with Conti's with plenty of tread. On the road, they were adequate for the daily driving. For AutoX and the race track I found them disappointing for traction, predictability, and durability (compared to RT615s and RE040s on my 350Z). After one half of a season, they already need to be replaced. Next Spring I'm going with Yokohamas and look forward to getting rid of the Contis.
  3. If you want assurance, don't look to us, buy a warranty. It sounds like you've done research on this, so you know the issues. I don't think anything we say can change that. When you buy a 996, it is a possibility that the motor can let go. There are things to do to mitigate this (buy newer, buy with replaced motor, buy warranty, or buy older and have a savings account). It comes down to what you need to do, based on your circumstances and risk tolerance, so you can rest easy at night owning a 996. I had a car CPOd in Connecticut, flew out, and drove it back ~2700kms and had a great time. It's a possibility that the motor can go, so I extended myself and bought as new as possible to reduce that risk ('02 C2 w/ 33K miles). If it does go, I've got a second car, and a home equity LOC for emergencies. That's what works for me. Based on your postings, if you're that scared to drive the car, it probably isn't the right car for you. Good luck with your decision.
  4. Since MKI sideskirts came with my 2002 C2 (MKII), I would assume MKII sideskirts would fit on a MKI car.
  5. For the $40 savings, I can live with that :) Thanks again.
  6. I have a '02 C2 and will be installing a GT3 MKII (non Aerokit) decklid. There is no stop light in the decklid, but still the stop light above the lid, in the body of the car. Will the -51 wiring harness suit my needs? Thank you, Joe
  7. I have erroneously purchased a used GT3 decklid for my '02 C2. The airbox connection for GT3s is on the passenger side, while the C2 connection is on the driver side. Do I have any reasonable options to make this work, or do I just try to resell the decklid? -Will a stock GT3 airbox fit in the C2? From photos, I'm wondering if the oil filler will be able sit on the airbox with some minor modification. -Is there an aftermarket intake that would work? Thanks for the help. Joe
