  1. wow, havent thought of that. that is a good point. will get back on the results
  2. It sounds you are not chasing this any further but any news on what the problem was as i have the same issue. not sure how to report this to Porsche
  3. Backround: Cayenne 2009 PCM3, recently added Nav-tv BT, and installed Voice control stalk (doesnt work even though it is enabled on PCM3 by Nav-tv unit but that is a separate problem). All my additional installations could be irrelevant to the problem but I thought I would mention. Problem: after about one hour of driving two pieces of info (navigation and music data) begin to disappear and appear on the main display on dashboard. No other data (tire pressure, "main menu" etc) exibits the same problem so I deduct it only relates to data fed from PCM (music info and navi). I found no correlation to any other activity/outside temperature/music source of this behavior. The only thinking i have is that something heats up in PCM/Connectors and looses contact. Anybody seem something like this before? What contacts on the back of PCM3 relate this info to dashboard (maybe it is just loose connector)? Thanks
  4. I have instaled stalk wiith the button. I also have voice control menus and functions on PCM3 but for some reason button on turn signal switch doesnt activate voice control. Does it have to be enabled via PIWIS? tks
  5. all original stuff stays in place the aftermarket add-on just tricks your PCM into believing the car is not moving
  6. i changed after 4 years and was soooo happy as they pooled two cracked coils out and it now runs much better (i have 996 so 997 may have better coils).
  7. no code as far as i know but there are plenty of third party devices for about $200 on ebay that do that. just type pcm into ebay search box ebay.de seems to have the most
  8. snow socks is a cheap alternative http://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel4...bvimO.bYo02V%60
  9. do you have any slip as well? i had a cracke pressure plate which resulted in pedal not coming back smothly or at all but that would only be the case if you clutch started slipping as well and the problem developed instantly and not over time.
  10. send me your vin via PM and i ll look up what options you have installed. sounds like you have no bluetooth
  11. Here is what they say for the Porsche tools (PST and PIWIS) so I suspect the Durametric emulates them. "Open the rear right bleeder valve (use collecting bottle). Press the Start button on the System Tester. This initiates certain functions in the hydraulic control unit (return pump, switch-off and switch-over valves are actuated). Bleed until clear, bubble-free brake fluid emerges. In addition (throughout bleeding operation) fully depress (pump) brake pedal as far as the stop at least ten times. Caution: In vehicles with high mileage or in old vehicles, double the pumping cycles and use only half the brake master cylinder stroke (damage to the brake master cylinder could result / primary boot damage). Close the right rear bleeder valve. Then immediately press Stop button on the System Tester." any specific bleed valve to open before i start this?
  12. i am getting new durametric which allows for break bleed but there is no explanation anywhere on how to do it. where can i look it up? tks
  13. telephone and bluetoth are two different things. for bluetooth you need no parts if you already have mic in the car. (look at TSB on this website) you only need the code for which porsche charges you. solution is to get navtv pcm3bt (that is waht i got and so far seems to be the only product in the market). for telephone you need code and other parts but i never understood why have phone when you have bluetooth
  14. I am looking at parts list and for 2003 C4S it lists two different break pads with different numbers and different prices (f.e. rear 996.352.949.03 and 996.352.939.03, front 996.351.949.12 and 996.352.949.03) what is the difference? what do i need? tks
  15. try these people http://www.nav.tv/products/opv-1c?car=181
  16. considering that it takes them 5 years between upgrades (2003-2008) the next one should be 2013
  17. blinds dont work either. checked all fuses second time right and left box. all fuses good.
  18. Battery died. I have recharged it. All sort of codes cleared up from dash after i started driving. Everything now works except pano roof. Neither shade nor windows move. Fuses all ok. Any thoughts would be apppreciated.
  19. installing is a 30 min DIY job. you can decide whether your installer is more or less able than an average person activation is by PIWIS - 15 min max p.s. there is a TSB on this
  20. Hi, does anybody have an assembly diagram for 2009 Caynne steering column? I am trying to replace turn signal/headlight switch. Thanks in advance.
  21. go to dealer, they will switch it with PIWIS, may as well ask them to switch side lights to turn signals (though i am not sure if it was implemented on 996 or only on 997 onwards so you may have to re-wire; you will need that to comply with european regulations) Thank you for the reply! :) I have been to the dealer and they have tried to switch it with the PIWIS. But it didn´t work, there was a configuration option for the frequency band that they changed from US to European, but it still didn´t work. Have they maybe done it the wrong way(it was the dealers first time doing this kind of operation) or does this operation not work on my PCM beacause it´s a specific US model??? part catalog shows only one part world-wide. so should be something at the dealer.

  23. i could never understand why anyone would buy a turbo in country where they put you in jail if you do 100mph. If you are in Italy or south france you are ok up to 220kmh, floor in germany. there it makes sense but US?
