  1. @ ronbonner: '... Does this mean that when the Ice Link eventually becomes available, ipods could replace the CD changer?...'

Definitly. Why should you install such an old, mechanical and expensive device as a CD changer?

I connected an iPOD with an IceLink in my Mini, in the 996 I use the AUX-In and for other cars I have an iTRIP FM Transmitter. All work without any problems...

IMO an iPOD (or other mp3 player) is just great and I am sure that in none of my cars a CD changer will be needed any more.

Question - I went to the Denison site for the IceLink and it stated the a 2004 996 is not compatible yet. Is this true as you describe connecting to a 996?

    Thanks!

  2. Postscript:

When I started my car this afternoon, the radio worked fine. I guess this is one of those gremlins my BMW 745Li is famous for (after 3 years most have been resolved, but there is always another one when you least expect it!)

When I bring my P-car in for its 15K service next month I'll mention the radio problem. The SA thinks I will need a replacement radio, so we will see.

I have had this same issue happen around 4-5 times over the last 15 months of owning my 2004 C4S. The radio lights up with no sound when I start the car. If I shut the radio off and/or car, the problem still exists. If I wait a 30-60 minutes and start the car, problem resolved. This may have something to do with heat but either way this is a gremlin that Porsche should address with Bose. I too will request them to look into it when I bring my car in for its first service.

  3. 82K sounds high with those miles and the fact its been titled. 70-75 is more in-line. I have a 04 C4S with 6K on it and the car is solid and a blast to drive. I also think the new 997 doesn't quite have the same look as the 4S and I'd wait for the new 4s or turbo before going into the new model. I have the performance package on my car and I feel my C4S is just as fast and handles better than the new 997. I'd go for the C4S and drive the hell out of it! It loves to be driven hard.

  4. Proammatore,

Car looks great. I have a Atlas Grey 2004 C4S and I'm thinking of adding the Ruv RGT kit. If you don't mind asking, how much did you pay for the front bumper and side skirts? Did you have to get them painted and if so, who did it? Also, who did the install? Local Porsche Dealer?

    Thanks,

    DFC.

I have more info on this car its a 2004 Ruf RGT RS, Man I want to add a a body kit like this on my car. They even brought back the ducktail!

    Hey D_Man,

You should do it! I got the Ruf RGT front bumper and side skirts for my 996 Cab and I'm really happy with it. Ruf's aerokits actually improve performance (improved downforce and cooling) and look aggressive without being over the top (I am not a big fan of TechArt for this reason).

Anyway, you should contact Weissach (http://www.weissach.com). They're the North American distributor for Ruf.

    Cheers,

    .:programmatore:.

  5. Paid $3000 which included the PSE, on-off switch and the installation. I believe the list price for the PSE is $2400. Note the on-off switch was a very labor intensive to install. I don't believe you have to get this installed which may save some bucks on the install. I probably could have negotiated a better price but I received a 5% discount for the car with all the factory options.

  6. All I can say is wow!!! I received my car back today from the dealer as they installed the PSE with the on-off dash switch. I ordered this when I bought the car a few weeks ago after hearing it on another 911. I am not sure how many of you have heard the difference but it is truly an amazing sound. From 3000-5000 RPMs it makes an incredible gargling/cracking sound similar to a custom Harley. When idling, you also hear the gargle with a bit of a spitting sound like it needs more air. For those who love the car but want a stronger growl from the pipes, I'd strongly recommended this option. My two cents.... :clapping:

  7. Thanks for the feedback. Couple of questions, I currently have the chrome four-tube sports tailpipes. Do this attached to the new sports exhaust system or do they put on different tips? I was also told that because the exhaust system was an add on that I they could not install the on-off switch on the dash to turn the exhaust on-off for loudness. Is this true or can the switch be installed? I'm an fine with not have the switch but wanted to know what is possible.

  8. Where can I get aluminum pedals for my 2004 CS4? Does Porsche resell any?

Does anyone know of a solution for integrating a garage door opener transmitter into one of the existing non-used rocker buttons or adding a button into the instrument cluster or in the rear view mirror/light unit?

    Thanks.
