  1. I would start with the dash and door speakers with stock OEM rears. You'll see (and hear) a remarkable difference. You can always upgrade from there.
  2. I later added the center radiator, a 996 front bumper and litronic front headlights! .
  3. I have a 98 Boxster and I added clear front lights. I also de-abmered the tail and side markers. The look is an improvement.
  4. With a 98 Boxster I would also check your radiator cap part number. If the part number ends in 01, I would replace it. They are now up to 04.
  5. If you want to keep the CDR210 look. I would upgrade to a CDR220 which allows an iPod interface. I would also recommend the dash and door speaker upgrade as the paper cone stock speakers are not very good.
  6. Here are a couple of links that might be helpful. Link 1 Link 2 Link 3
  7. I replaced the waterpump and thermostat (160 F) on MY98 and chose not to lower engine. New pump on left old pump on the right. I removed passenger seat to access engine bay. Also replaced radiator fluid while I was at it.
  8. Still not to late for everyone to be a "Contributing Member"
  9. I just hit 100k yesterday. I bought my car three(3) years ago last July. I am the second owner and purchased it with 47K on the clock. Other than taking the car in to get my OBC turn on or installing a new set of tires, I have yet had to take it to a dealer or shop for service. I commute each day about 145 miles round trip and it is the absolute best part of my day. Just recently put the hard top on which was hard to do. Expecting first snow of the season tomorrow and I plan to drive it every day rain, snow or shine. Looking forward though to the return of Spring!
  10. I bought the double din installation kit from Eurospeed Motors http://stores.ebay.com/Euromotorspeed which came with the trim plate. May want to see if they will sell separately. I went with the Pioneer AVIC D-3 and also bought the bluetooth adapter. Photo of finished installation.
  11. It can go where the OEM nav antenna is placed which is under the center cover where the dash meets the wind shield. 2nd picture down on the left hand side. Just behind the flasing red light (alarm) when alarm is activated.
  12. Do you have any other OBD II Codes. When parked my alarm would also go off randomly. Upon checking the codes I had an Alarm Code 33. I determined that I had a faulty interior infared sensor. Replace the sensor and no more inadvertent alarms.
  13. When you press the PSM Off button, it should light up. An indicator on the cluster gage that says "PSM Off" should light up as well. When you first put the key in the ignition and turn it one click (but don't start car) does the cluster gage light come on? If not you may have a bad bulb on the cluster gage. Also, you can check the Options Sticker to determine if your car came equipped with PSM. Should be Options code M222.
  14. Welcome to Renntech and thank you for your service to our country and Happy Veterns Day! I use my 98 Boxster as a daily driver and just today put on my winter tires. Performance tires aren't made for lower temperatures. +1 for a Double Din navigation system. I went with the Pioneer AVIC D-3 and I used the eBay kit. I purchased it from Crutchfields. I Be careful down range!
  15. Many aftermarket NAV's allow you to change the background and upload a custom one from disk. I have a couple of Porsche jpegs if interested.
  16. If you have a faulty fill cap, it can cause the relief valve to trigger. That happened to me last summer and I ended replacing both the radiator cap and installing a new relief valve. I would try the cap first and then determine if a new relief valve is needed.
  17. Interesting, you have to wonder what caused the cracks. They come in a complete unit and you can't buy individual parts. The light units aren't airtight. You actually have an air tube that goes from the front bumber to the back of each light plug. Keeps the units from fogging up. I would seal then up the best you can and see what happens. YOu can always replace them later.
