    I am trying to troubleshoot the signals from the door switches that are routed through the driver's door and into the car. There is large block connector shown in the attached picture. Is there a pinout available that identifies the signals that are originating from within the door panel ( door micro switches, window power, door lights etc) and to what pin on the large block connector they are terminated on? My central locking system thinks that the driver door is always closed, and is not seeing the signal from the inside or outside door handle micro switch . I believe the problem is in the wiring and not with the micro switches. I am trying to trace the signals, and having the pinout for this block connector would be a great help.

    While installing a rocker switch on my dash, I accidentally disconnected (pulled out ) three out of the four wires from the small connector that plugs into the rear of the Wiper Rotary Switch on my 2000 Boxster S. Does anyone know where I can get the sequence and which wires go where in the mini- connector? Thanks.

    Finally got around to checking color codes of wiring to mystery connector. One wire is brown, the other is red with black stripe. I applied a momentary short across connector and drew a tiny spark.

    No LED light in this Boxster S 2000. Also keep in mind the esxtra connector does not exist on the passenger door side.

    So I just removed the passenger side door panel to see how the connectors on that side mated. I was surprised to see that "Y- harness" in question only had ONE connector and that connector mated with inside passenger door handle. There was no second connector or second cable; . I will check the wiring colors on the mystery connector on the driver's side and post them later today. Thanks.

    OK. Just took off the driver's side door panel and took a picture of the inside. Hopefully this picture is clearer than the one originally posted. Notice the airbag is connected so that we can eliminate the airbag from the equation. The red arrow points to the connector that mates perfectly to the connector receptacle at the inside door latch that is secured to the door panel. The green arrow points to the mystery connector in question. I can't find any mating connector for it on the door panel. I am thoroughly baffled.

    The airbag is connected with its connector. The inside door pull latch is also connected with its connector. The only clue I have is that I am getting a double beep when I UNLOCK the door with the remote. I do not have any beeps when I lock the doors with the remote. I will take off the panel again and check again carefully for the other end where the mystery connector is supposed to mate. Thanks

    No fun getting old. I recently replaced the window regulator on the drivers' side of my 986 Boxster S (2000). That went fine. However, when I was putting back the door panel, I noticed that there were two connectors that were coming from the door and I could only find one mating connector ( inside door pull handle) to mate. Where does the other connector hookup to? I already connected the connector that was going to the airbag. I have removed the door panel several times for other repairs, but I just can't remember where that extra connector goes. I have attached a picture of the connector in question. Thanks.

    Loren, would you know the physical locations of where to look for #3 ,5,and 7 in the diagram you sent? Is # 3or #7 what is referred to as the purge valve ( where the fumes are sucked into the intake manifold)

    Loren, Thanks for the diagrams. The secondary air pump has been removed but no CEL is on. There is a short hose to the intake manifold has been plugged. I will have a friend check it for any codes.

    The previous owner of my 2000 Boxster S did a pretty good job of removing the charcoal canister ( behind the passenger wheel well), purge valve and all the hoses that were all part of the evaporative recovery system for vapors from the fuel tank. Lately, I have started to smell gas fumes in the cabin as th weather has gotten warmer. I am trying to buy all the components that made up the evap from salvage yards/online, but the problem I am facing is how to connect them all together. I looked at the Bentley manual for the Boxster , but it is very sparse with details , and has only one vague sketch on the evap system. Can someone point me to a diagram that will allow me to reconstruct the evap system. Or can I vent the tank in an appropriate and safe manner so that fumes do not enter the cabin? If so, a diagram of how to do so would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    The hood is closed. The trunk/engine compartment is closed. I have some interior zones open as I am refurbisihing the interior of the cockpit, but those interior zones should only caus e a single beep.

    My BoxsterS 2000 won't allow me to lock the doors with either the key or the remote. When I lock the door (once) with the remote or the key, both doors lock, then unlock immediately, with the double horn beep. When I lock the door (twice) with the remote or the key, I get the same results. I have to use the ket three times successively to lock the doors, and I get a single beep ( open zone) The fault code from a PST tester is readi ng out: Code 60 central locking limit position not reached. Can you give me some suggestions where to start looking.

    I need some help trying to identify the part numbers and/or locate a pair of female mating connectors (20-pin and 18-pin) for a 996.645.312.00 HAES M680 6x40W DSP amplifier that I purchased on eBAY. My Boxster 2000S that I purchased has the wiring connectors chopped off the harness in the trunk area, so I am trying to restore it to its original setup. The head unit is the CDR-220 with a DSP control panel. Any help would be appreciated.

    I have the same situation. I need a set of female mating connectors (20-pin and 18-pin) for the HAES M680 DSP amplifier that I just purchased on eBAY. I also need a 6-pin mating connector for the DSP control unit that came with it. The 986 that I purchased has the wiring connectors chopped off in the trunk area, so I am trying to restore it to its original setup. The head unit is the CDR-220. Any help would be appreciated.

    Would you know what kind of screw head is used on the small screws. I don't want to take my seat out to remove the screws, and I can't figure out if it requires a Philips or Torx ....... Not much clearance to get access to these two small screws. Thanks :)
