  1. I'm surrounded by 99-00 996's for under 19k here in SoCal (and fairly low mileage) I believe he has a 6 month window before we see the TT prices start to come back a little. I know a lot of people who have dumped theirs recently :( B
  2. That is fine, and it will pull into the block as you tighten the two 10mm bolts :) Move that bracket and connector out of the way!! B
  3. Can you point me in the direction of a place that "breaks" Boxsters? I'm looking for a right hand drive dash for my USA car. I want to convert my race car to right hand drive :) B
  4. Can you take a picture and post it? I'd like to "see" what you are talking about :) B
  5. This is a great thread :) I'm a little concerned with people suggesting Techron in the gas as a way to combat the throttle body problem (the throttle body only flows AIR.. not GAS) so Techron in the gas would only help the injectors and cylinders :) B
  6. I have been using a PIWIS clone for several months now. They work fine. Getting the updates is not real easy, but unless you are working on the latest and greatest, it will be several years before you need an upgrade. I'm working on getting the KTS 570 which is wireless bluetooth instead of all the cables for clone. Should hear back from my Bosch diagnostics guy tomorrow (Tues. 25th) I'm lucky to be close to the Bosch Diag distribution warehouse. B
  7. The car has not been lowered and I do not believe these are the 11's. It only has a 265 on it. They came off of a 987 Boxster :) B
  8. Been rebuilding them for close to 22 years now :) It wasn't my first rodeo :) B
  9. The fuel in the rails and injectors was at least 6 years old. The chassis it went into had fresh gas in it (I converted a 2.7 car to 3.2) We bought the engine and stashed it until a rolling chassis came up in good shape that needed an engine!~! B
  10. To help cut through the crap in that post or this one, I can repost all the pics if need be :) Or zip them up and email them out to whomever.. B
  11. Yes. Unplug it.. like someone mentioned above I think.. it will actually run better than what you have now! The 123 00 runs about $175 now. B
  12. This is where the part number is located. I sell/sold MAFS on eBay for a long time, so we are not ALL bad :) B
  13. I did a write up on another site back in Dec. :) AOS INSTALL ON A 986S B
  14. The one you have shown is 9619/0 You can see it in the part number. B
  15. Got it. Had to look it up in my POSES software :) Locking Bridge: P9619/1 This is specifically for 987 cars~!! B
  16. I hear you, but the people complaining to me have a standard cost+10 across the board for service customers and WALK-INs!! B
  17. We are installing these on 986's/996's also.. :) They are spendy.. The 996GT3 arms are much cheaper.. Porsche Motorsports sells us 1/2/3/5/7/10/12 mm shims. Typical Toyo DOT stickie will need upwards of -2.5 or more depending on your experience. On the 996GT3 arms, this is upwards of 10mm worth of shims. The real issue: we nearly NO adjust ability at the top of the strut. Max I have seen personally is about -1.3 or so. This is guranteed to wear the outside of your tires!! If you track or AutoX.. BUY GT3 arms and an assortment of shims. There is NO way around it. B
  18. Tony is on Rengstorff and has been since the early 80's. He was a wrench for the original Garretson Enterprises race teams that ran Leman and beat the factory 935's :) Tell Tony "Brad" sent me. He will look the car over for you for free. b
  19. As far as I can tell, the 986 606 125 01 is only for EGAS cars and doesn't work properly in the cable cars. I have also ran 10-15 of these in cars without any special programming, they run just fine and pass smog in CA. B What is the part number on the MAF in the car currently? I have people calling me all the time trying to use the VW/Audi Mafs.. and they do not work. B
  20. After speaking with Terry Wells (before he retired from running the west coast Porsche distribution warehouse) they all *supposedly* get the same price but are not regulated to how much of a markup they are allowed. I have called around to multiple dealers on the same day and received pricing all over the map. There appeared to be NO rhyme or reason!! I'll tell you this: SunCoast/Sunset is not making any friends out there when it comes to other dealers, in fact they are pissing off some of the members who sit on the allocation committee (the group who decides how many cars each dealer gets) We will see how much longer it continues. My concern is: the wholesalers are now starting to send out "aftermarket" parts for the Porsche's that are cheaply made and fail sooner :( B
  21. $110 is D_A_M_N good!.. I followed the link. I'm calling a friend of mine in that area to get the skinny on that business. They are listing it for $104 right now. They list the pump fits a CGT.. UM NO!! B
  22. Porsche sells off overstock. They sell it to the highest bidder. Guess who the highest bidder is? Typically: SunCoast. I just had lengthy conversations with a dealership owner about how SunCoast can undercut everyone and how a lot of dealers handle their pricing. It was an extremely interesting conversation. It changed where I buy from :) B
  23. Congrats on your upgrade!! The question I have: will it pass smog? You say it is running rich right now? B
  24. For those of you following along at home.. this is what he is talking about. People strip these all the time.. and we replace them with a BOLT or knock out another stud from a used upper hat when we went to monoballs :) B
