  1. Those look like Lloyd mat attachments. IMO they are way better than the standard OEM supplied attachment. ( the plastic velcro piece shown in your circle ) When you order lloyd mats thay include those attachments.
  2. Does anyone know the part number for the front direction indicator light bulb holder for a 2001 996. I've check the catalogue information and it doesn't seem to list anything for the holder. It looks like a part that could be seperated from the main headlight assembly so I'm sure it is a part that could be bought seperately.
  3. I also have the same noise in my 01 996. After looking at all the forums I beleive the consensus is the throwout bearing, although it has never been confirmed by a mechanic. I've now been living with the noise for 3 years and have had no issues with my clutch except the mild embarrassment when pulling away at a stop sign. As you mentioned , the screeching only happens in 1st gear with higher revs and slow clutch release and when the car in warm. Having this noise pop up is not all bad though. My clutch control has got much better trying to ensure I don't rev too high when I pull away in 1st gear.
  4. I have 14mm spacers front and back and my 01 996 is lowered 1.5 in. using Bilstein PSS9's. They fit perfectly and look great, and I have the same wheels as you. I bought them at Maxspeed Motorsports for $240 + $80 for 20, 45 mm bolts. You can also buy lock bolts but they were out of stock when I wanted them. Check out the site, they also have other goodies like aluminum pedals that are a lot cheaper then elsewhere, which I also installed. http://www.maxspeed-motorsports.com/radbolts.html
  5. Can anyone confirm if the 996 2002 and above come with factory rolled fenders or do they have the 15-20 mm lip like the 01? Rear fender that is.

  7. After reading the TSB for "summer tires, wheels and spacers" it looks like the 99-01 will not take a GT3 wheel without rolling the fender, yet the 02 and above will. I'm assuming the 02 and above are slightly wider or have the fenders already rolled. If you notice below, the differences is the GT3 wheel is 13mm closer to the suspension and will stick out 17mm more. In the same TSB it also states that a 17 mm spacer can be used on the 10Jx18 offset 65 with 265 tire without rolling. If this is the case then why can't the GT3 wheel be used without rolling the fender? Has anyone else used the GT3 wheel or other 11" wheels with offset of 63 or less on a 99-01 996 without the need for rolling? My pss9's go on the car tuesday and new wheels in the future but I'm becoming anal about fitment after reading too many differing opinions about what works and what doesn't. Clearance: Package 1 Package 2 Suspension Assuming that this is OEM wheel/tire and there is no any problems with clearance on both sides Package is 13 mm (0.5'') closer to suspension/brakes components. Acceptable for most cars. Fenders Package will stick out 17 mm (0.7'') farther. Make sure that you have enough room under the fender. If not, consider narrower tires or higher offset.   8. I am pretty sure it is from the transmission. I can dulplicate the noise just by giving more gas and release the clutch pedal extra slow at the engagement point. It is like some metal part is rubbing some other metal parts. It only happen in 1st gear at a full stop. I would say, depends on how careless I am. It happens once every 100 times. Just curious if this problem was solved. There are many posts about clutch noise but this one matches my symptoms exactly. I have a 01 C2. which had a recent clutch change. (12000 km ago)

I use the Fabspeed cold air kit $225 + bmac air filter $125. http://www.fabspeed.com/996_GT3.html That beautiful Porsche sound has definately increased and I did notice increased throttle response on up shifts. I've had them for over a year and 8000 km with no problem. The MAF problem usually occurs when people re-oil the filter (too much oil added). I researched the K & N but I wasn't comfortable with the cone filter and the problems associated with the MAF.
